Discovering America's talent has taken on a new ride with the influx of American Idol, broadcast on the FOX Network since 2002. The highly rated show from the beginning has been a faithful journey. However, since the departure of Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell's continued grotesque rhetoric, this season is now in default. All of the judges including Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul gelled as a team. Through that team, Cowell addressed people as though they were beneath him; the ultimate tragedy, in this music television fairytale.

This season Cowell is now collaborating with guest host' sitting in Abdul's former seat. No one can put up with Simon like Abdul, and that flavor is missing. When the team dissembled, the show looked to be out of ideas. When American Idol first began, it seemed as if Cowell cared about the artists. Though his criticisms were rough, Simon still was passionate about his position as the grand-marshal. The artists chosen this season were good, but many comments given by Cowell have been lackluster. If the creator of the show were more inclined to be behind the scenes, American Idol would probably last longer than anticipated.

The show has had a lot of drama in the later years not fit for television or in people's conversations at café bars. Case in point with Adam Lambert, his sexuality, thrown to the wolves; all who were in the pack, devoured the media-delicacies. The first six artists that won on American Idol had demons in their closets; yet, the show made sure that they survived and were successful. Today, it seems as if they thrive for controversy, and Simon believes that includes his rhetoric. In addition, this season many of the artists are trying to be replicas of their favorites in music.

American Idol's valor is sour, and the channel has now turned to Dancing with the Stars after this season. Profits from the show are distributed to charities, and the footwork is amazing. That is a better avenue than watching Idol masquerade in who is who in Simon Cowell's eyes. American Idol's rein with Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Fantasia, Jordan Sparks, and Carrie Underwood was the best of the best. The rest featured are at the end of the spectrum, now considered music case studies.

The journey is over American Idol this season.
