Argument about gun control

The argument today is whether or whether not gun control is the answer to the problematic and reoccurring shooting massacres in so many areas of the United States. What would gun control prevent? Restricted use of guns, but that wouldn't stop those with mental issues from killing in any other ways.
In my opinion, if a person obviously has issues they should be seen by a professional, and it should be taken more seriously. Honestly, normal person does not just wake up one morning and say, "Today, I think I may take this gun and shoot up an elementary school. I think this should be a very fun hobby and I would enjoy this." There has got to be anger aimed from somewhere, built up over time to have this happen. Something must have gone wrong somewhere. But, even if that person doesn't have a motive or reason for an action such as this, they still has to be a mental instability.
So is gun control really the answer here? Shall we take away all gun rights from Americans over some unstable people with an obvious problem? Or shall we fix the problem right from the source? Is anyone really realizing what is really going on? Think about this before you answer those questions and finalize that decision, did they have these problems like this back in the day? No they didn't. what did they do differently? They took mental issues a lot more seriously than they do today.
Has anyone questioned the parenting of today? A lot of troubled minds start from where and how they were raised. Most are raised in poverty and depression, bullied in school, abused, etc. Its absolutely horrible. And what is going on to stop this? Social services ignore the problem because the parent grows a brain and says, "they are lying, and they are doing this to themselves, I am not in the wrong." And once the social services leave that family alone, that child ends up dead. Their judgment was totally wrong, and cost another young, innocent life.
My point in all this, things today has been taken out of control badly. Why should innocent citizens have our rights taken away because some people cant do their jobs and keep the ones with a mental issue off the streets? Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
