Do We Need Feminism At All ?
Do We Need Feminism At All?
An “ism” like “feminism” is not made for Indian woman. The Indian woman is an incarnation of best progressive ideals by nature’s design. She is already “feminism in action”.So she does not need an external ideology to solve her issues. In fact,I am sorry to say that,we are more or less following the beliefs of so-called progressive ladies.
The views of such derailed feminists are sure to give way to a society where it will be hard to tell who is the real father of the kid.In fact all the ills pertaining to western society like “Single-parent families, drug abuse, teenage pregnancies, fatherless family, alcoholism” are bound to hit our society. No wonder we will encounter homosexuals and lesbians more frequently than happy faced couples.Just see the present state of affairs in American society.
“Today, an American child can reasonably expect not to. Fatherlessness is now approaching a rough parity with fatherhood as a defining feature of American childhood. The astonishing fact is reflected in many statistics, but here are the two most important. Tonight, about 40 percent of American children will go to sleep in homes in which their fathers do not live. Before they reach the age of eighteen, more than half of our nation’s children are likely to spend at least a significant portion of their childhood’s living apart from their fathers. Never before have so many children grown up without knowing what it means to have a father. If this book could be distilled into one sentence, it would be this: A good society celebrates the ideal of the man who puts his family first.”
I do not wish such a future of Indian society but the way Indian homes are being badly affected by currents of globalization, currents of feminism and rampant abuse of laws intended at protecting the rights of woman may very well make use more worse than an American society.
Well, sometimes the crusader that fight against the ills of our times is often viewed in wrong light. One often talk about them in wrong terms like a women hater ,misogynist and anti feminist as well. However,it’s no secret that we are witnessing the disadvantages more than the harm caused by the feminist thinkers. They have led to creation of wrong identity in woman which is not at par with values, morality and ethics. The very reference to values and morality make female progressive thinkers go berserk. These women thinkers believe that a real liberated woman is above the realm of responsibilities, values and ethics. She can do anything without bothering least about it social repercussions. Her world starts from one right to another.
True, the women of this nation are reeling under so many problems but do these problems of women can ever be solved via set of distorted beliefs? It’s like adding fuel to the fire.Nobody has denied that we need women’s organizations to solve the issues of women. However, the real question is have they been really involved in welfare of woman. Most of such organizations are being run by ladies hankering for media attention and foreign funds. No wonder why it appears that wheel of progress is taking all of us towards a fatal end.Look what it has done.It has led to strained relationships , marital conflicts, children living as abandoned child in his/her home and children flirting with all wrong habits.
“The largest weakness among the radical feminists comes from the separatist feminist, who argues that women should organise independently of men. This argument usually leads to the view that only lesbians can be true feminists, since only they can be fully independent of men, which in turn downgrades all other feminists. For the radical feminist the subordination of women is seen primarily in terms of relations of dominance between men and women as distinct social groups. Because men as a group are seen as being opposed to women’s liberation by definition, many radical feminists reject any cooperation with them in their struggle to achieve the social change they seek. Looking at all men as a ‘group’ and then deciding to turn against them is a serious weakness for any feminism. This would only suit the lesbian feminist, and would hold no relevance for heterosexual feminist.
Another weakness in the radical feminist perspective is the way they group. Radical feminists use patriarchy as the most important concept for explaining gender inequality. They use this term to provide a detailed explanation of how power operates within sexual relationships. They argue that politics was not just an activity confined to political parties and parliaments, but one, which exist in ‘all’ relationships. The radical feminists go on to argue that rape and other forms of sexual violence are ever-present possibilities and ways in which ‘all’ men intimidate ‘all’ women.”
Lastly, unfolding a chapter from the life a girl- daughter of this committed feminist Alice Walker-who became the victim of feminism !! This daughter of a committed feminist unfolds her dark experiences related with feminism. It’s an eye opener . A must read for anyone who wishes to understand the implications of following the beliefs shared by the feminists. Look what she says.
I honestly believe it’s time to puncture the myth and to reveal what life was really like to grow up as a child of the feminist revolution.
As a little girl, I wasn’t even allowed to play with dolls or stuffed toys in case they brought out a maternal instinct. It was drummed into me that being a mother, raising children and running a home were a form of slavery. Having a career, travelling the world and being independent were what really mattered according to her.
The truth is that I very nearly missed out on becoming a mother – thanks to being brought up by a rabid feminist who thought motherhood was about the worst thing that could happen to a woman.
You see, my mum taught me that children enslave women. I grew up believing that children are millstones around your neck, and the idea that motherhood can make you blissfully happy is a complete fairytale.
In fact, having a child has been the most rewarding experience of my life.Far from ‘enslaving’ me, three-and-a-half-year-old Tenzin has opened my world.
Feminism has betrayed an entire generation of women into childlessness. It is devastating.
But far from taking responsibility for any of this, the leaders of the women’s movement close ranks against anyone who dares to question them – as I have learned to my cost. I don’t want to hurt my mother, but I cannot stay silent. I believe feminism is an experiment, and all experiments need to be assessed on their results. Then, when you see huge mistakes have been paid, you need to make alterations."
Now is there anything left to be said. It’s time to ignore both feminists and feminism if we are really interested in providing a better future to the Indian society.
