If you are looking for a 'Welcoming tweetallige coffee shop-kitchen'. This cosy little coffee shop situated on the outskirts of Himeville offers just that. For the past seven years Coleen Riggin has been baking some of the most popular pies and breads in the Southern Drakensberg.
Most products are baked in the kitchen, with a few being the produce of local home suppliers.
Home cooking fanatics will have a ball in this shop. Breads, pies, rusks, biscotti, tripe & onion dishes, hake and haddock pies (& cakes), venison pies, steak & kidney pies, beef hot pot, curries - the list goes on and on. And if that is not enough, home-made ginger beer, lemon cordial, chilli sauce (very popular), lemon curd and organic honey. Popular amongst visitors are the 'big, fat frozen farm chickens!
The cafe' garden may not have the view, but sitting at the tables and chairs beneath colourful umbrellas is an ideal place to sample some of these mouth watering delights before making your purchase. Except, of course, the big, fat frozen farm chickens, which you will have to take home to enjoy.
Daily specials - and believe me they are great - are available. Good, wholesome country style breakfasts are served. A 'real' country soup of the day - quiches, Welsh rarebit, curry & rice and a vegetarian Taramazini are on sale. Teas, cool drinks and a pleasant blend of Assagai coffee is available
For Christmas - Coleen is offering glazed gammon, Christmas pies, Christmas cakes, Christmas puddings and birthday cakes made to order only. Wanting to go out and have a picnic lunch - have a chat to Coleen. A loved one away from home? Coleen will help you arrange a bouquet of flowers.
A 'tweetalige-coffee-shop-kitchen' with a warm welcome - only in our valley. Situated on the outskirts of Himeville; right hand side of the Underberg/Himeville road. A worthwhile visit..
