In Defence of the Twilight Seiries.

Book Review By: Itania
Editorial and Opinion

I don't appreicate it when you give this seiries a bad rap. It is a well written (how ever cliched) and well rounded (if only bizarre) book

Okay, so Twilight may not be the best book on the planet. Doubtless I have read better. And I can say that with a clear contcious.

I am a Twilight Addict.

I've said it and I'm proud of it.

Twilight is a very clichéd book, I'll admit. But it gives us teenagers a kind of hope. In our little unimportant lives, we can always see that SOMETHING reminds us of twilight. I have only read the books oh.... 3 times each...

You could say that I have a mental problem, and need to see a therapist.

Well, my mom's a therapist and she says that I am in perfect mental health.

Bella and Edwards relationship is the kind of irrevocable love that we all search for. I think this book kind of shows us that it can come up in the most unlikely of places. If I hadn't been obsessed with Twilight, I would still be sitting on my butt, in my room, reading  who know what? Eragon (now THERE is a peice of bad writing, if only for the utter lack of good hard structure.) I hope that to all you people who think that the relationship is unhealthy to look again.

Some major things have happend to Bella to support this:

She is in mortal danger every day.

She is the very essence of fraility here and she is surrounded by blood sucking 'monsters'

She is being controlled by Edward.

Now I can see where you get this idea. But you must remember that in the begining Edward gave Bella a choice. She chose danger.

The controlling bit is a mite harder. While Edward usually gets his way, Bella will almost ALWAYS get her way. Edward is a bit overprotective (if you haven't noticed then maybe you  shouldn't be reading this should you)

To all you mothers out there: There will be other books. This isn't nearly as bad as Harry Potter even though it mainly is focused on one age group.

To all you Twi-Hards: Live life to the fullest, and read other books. You have all summer to read and grow a love for other books and when this is all over, there will be   other books.

To the people who think they will become vampires: I have no advice for you exept find the 'human' in you and try to get rid of THIS kind of addiction. This is the unhealthy kind. This is when you should seek help....that doesn't mead you can dream though...

Nice. I agree with most of it. I'm not much of an Edward fan. Hence, my screen name. My parents are dissatisfied with my choice of book. But, then again, they haven't been grasped by Meyer's work! LOL

I made my mother read Twilight, and she just doesn't grasp the obsession. I am personally split between edward and jacob. They'd both be good for bella. Actually it has gotten far enough that one of my friends is calling me Alice. (LOL)

Yes!! Tis perfection, and it's exactly how I think about it.

I can't decide between Edward, and Jacob!! Ah!! Poor Jacob, anyway!

I'm not a twi-hard, but I love it, I'm slightly obsessed, but not as much as I could be, but still slightly (not, it's more then slightly!) anyway! Totally agreed with it!!

I'm just getting so sick of people dissing it. It is a (while slighly or higher cliched novel) an enthraling story. Some people just can't get that this stay-at-home mom went out of her comfort zone to bring us these three time (soon to be four) best seller novels! I can't beleive that some people can be so cruel.

One of my friends were going to burn books that mentioned magic and stuff and he went "Maybe I should burn those New Moon books..." then I said "It's Twilight, and it is very much involved in religion, in fact of the charectors is a preists son... albeit he's over 300 years old but still..." and he was looking at me weird but... i don't think that he burned them...

:-P It was a quite interesting little discustion between us.

they are fiction books. Just because they are different doesn't mean they are wrong. But everyone is entitled to their own views so I can not complain

Ive only read one chapter, then i moved in to a book i enjoyed more, but ive been told allot! Its not THAT badly written, i mean ive read worse i think it would have been better in the guys POV. I just don't understand how the girl had a baby, i mean if he is a vampire = his heart doesn't pump = no bodily fluids.. ANd my friend seriously IS a vampire, she has two teeth that look life fangs.. Not Curved perfect ones, tehy still like teeth.. anyway... ALSO apparently teh vampire and werewolves are friends and fight an army of baby vampires, I don't understand that either.... Vampires and werewolves should be AT eatch other throats. I must admit it kept me longer then harry potter (i read two pages and put it back....

well, I can say that I've read better. And that sometimes the plot doesn't make sence, but all in all, for all the blunders, it's still pretty good writing.

I really didn't get the baby bit either, but I'm trying to go through all the genetics stuff in my spare time.

Thanks for reading!

I'm sorry, but if you are going to title your work In Defense of the Twilight Series, first off, spell defense right. And, don't call me hater or anything like that, I liked the first book well enough, but you must realize their relationship is based on the fact that Edward likes the smell of Bella's blood, and nowhere else does he give any other reasons. Secondly, don't hate on Harry Potter, JK Rowling managed to accomplish something that Meyer can only dream of. Thirdly, don't hate on Christopher Paolini either. He wrote his first book as a 15 year old. How old is Meyer?

okay, so I can't spell. It's a fact of life that I can not spell for peanuts (but I can spell peanut) I'm not hating on Harry Potter. I love harry potter like only a harry potter fan can, but there are several fan girls in me: Twilight, Harry Potter, and somewhere in there is The Inheritance Series. But That doesn't change my opinion on the books. Stephenie is a house wife in Utah. JK Rowling was a woman from britan who became famous fairly quickly. Christopher Paolini, well, I gotta admit, their good. But if I could, I'd redo the movie, because that was horrible. All in all, I have to disagree with you on the basis of their relation ship. It's like that in the begining, but if you'll see, he actually loves her enough to not kill her. I appreciate your comment, but respectfully disagree.

To the reader: Note: I love Harry potter, I was just going off of the scare with mothers that it would 'turn their children towards the devil'
and I enjoyed Eragon, but seriously folks, it wasn't that good. I am waiting patiently for the third installment on September 20th. because needless to say, his writing has improved drasticly. But I still liked it.
And PLEASE! I cannot spell! End of story! I spell phoneticly so please don't kill me over that. Ispell a lot better than some people on here.
