Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkes
I was so excited when I picked this young adult romance up. I was still in love with Perfect Chemistry so when I heard that there was another book I bought the book.
Caleb was coming home from jail and he had changed more than ever. He wasn't the same careless guy that had been thrown in a cell. When he goes home everybody expected so much of him. His mom wanted a perfect son and his sister didn't want anything to do with him. His friends were expecting exciting strories. Caleb didn't want to deal with any of it because he was preoccupied with the reason he had been locked up. He hit Maggie, his neighbor and now she was permently scarred.
Maggie stayed away from everybody. She had a limp after having her leg destroyed by Caleb and people tended to notice. Her friends didn't want to talk to her anymore and Maggie didn't really want to deal with them either. She was terrified of running into Caleb again though and she fought to keep out of his path believing that he hated her.
With a twist of fate they end up working for the same woman. At first they hate each other but then suddenly they find out they have alot more in common then they though. As the days go on they start falling for each other, but will one secret ruin everything?
Leaving Paradise is in no way as good as Perfect Chemistry, the story doesn't bring in the reader as much. I would have to say that I wasn't impressed by the novel she created and I was even worse off when I realized that there's a sequel. I wouldn't say that this is a book to reread over again.
