Shiver by Maggie Stievater
I picked up Shiverin the library after hearing so many good things about it. As Istarted to read, I realized that everything I have heard was unbelievably true.
Grace is a junior at a school in Minnesota. She has grown attached to the snow and the countryside. When she was just a little girl she got attacked by a pack of wolves starving out in the cold air. Grace didn't struggle; she just felt the wolves teeth pull at her. In the mess a wolf with yellow eyes touched her hand and she immediately connected her eyes to him. Eventually she was saved.
Six years later Grace is still watching after her wolf until she finds Sam bleeding and naked near her yard. Sam explains how he has loved her and how he wasn't just a normal human. Grace andSam's love grows and they learn how to fight the cold. What happens when winter comes along and takes Sam back to the woods? Will their love really conquer all?
After reading this book I was amazed. Grace and Sam's relationship is so deep and impossible that it can't help bring the reader in and hope for the best.Grace's organization and Sam's quirkiness creates an exciting and humorous story. I would recommend this story to anybody who wants a tale of an epic romance.
The novel doesn't have the best ending, but that shouldn't discourage anybody. I was wanting more by the end.Anybody should pick this book up.
