"A computer chattered to itself in alarm as it noticed an airlock open and close itself for no apparent reason.

This was because Reason was in fact out to lunch."

I've been looking forward to this one. Partly because for me my relationship with this book reads like a (very weird) fairytale. Back in the days of grubby secondary school classrooms and strong social divisions this was clearly branded a 'geek' book. Funny to those who could understand (or thought they understood) the internal mechanics of the universe... but to everybody else it was a bit too far fetched. Now. Either I became a geek (quite possible) or with the release of the long awaited Hollywoodesque film the book became cool... either way I ended up reading it and loving it. I've got to say, don't watch the film... because it's like the book but what condensed milk is to dairy clotted cream, if you understand me.

Douglas Adams is the master of taking the improbable and making it seem completely normal. The humour is so deadpan and frankly brilliant that often you won't know what's funny until you've read all the book in order to understand the type of humour in the first place.

I could go on for along time, but it's in my manifesto to keep these reviews short... so in short; read it!

9 hats out of 10.

If you would like The Rogue Hat Company to review your Booksie novel, just say. But beware, we will review it as we want to; good or bad... having said that, we are nice people!
