A day of drawing with chalk like children, eating ravioli after a dance, lying on the floor waiting for a call, and hours of gossiping on the phone are all memories that aren’t very motivational, but are very influential when you’re with the right person. Ali has been my best friend for years and she has affected me more than anybody else and will continue to.
Years of friendship come with so many unforgettable memories and it is hard not to get lost in them although I personally never mind. Ali is always the one pushing me harder to grasp what I want and reminding me that if I want something I just have to go get it. My writing has strengthened so much because of those words.
They say to write what you know first. I know those memories, how it is to cry on a shoulder, laugh for no reason, stay up discussing a meaningful book, and the love I have for a best friend who taught me everything. I know how it is to talk about the things you want and then realize the only thing you need is that one person that stuck through it all and never gave up.
Every scene that is made into a story I write, has a personal experience behind it. When it comes to writing these scenes, the experiences I have gone through with Ali are in there. She will always be that driving force behind my creativity and anything I ever produce. Entering college might be a little intimidating, but I can’t quit because I know someone that will never quit on me.
Ali is the influence behind everything and the one person who I will never forget.
