The art of ballet was made in Italy but it was made famous in France. Ballet was discovered sometime during the fifteenth century by Jean-Pierre Bas Trou. No one knows where the first ballet was held. Historians time it back all the way to years A.D.

Ballet is great exercise for anyone of any age. Ballet is one form of dance. Within the ballet world, many genres exist. An example is point in ballet. It does not matter what sex you are to be a dancer or in ballet, ballerina.

Dancing is both an art and a sport (though many do not consider a sport). Ballet is an art and harder than a sport because it takes both psychological and physical strength. Many football players take ballet so they can increase stamina and become more flexible on the field.

Ballet is here to stay to change the world on how we view dance. Ballet brings light to a world of great dancers, choreographers, and artist which allows people to embrace the beauty of great movement, technique and artistry. ]

What Dance Means to Me

I started dancing when I was four years old. This year is my eleventh year of dance. I love dancing because it is such a great way to exercise and be able to express your emotions through a form of art. Dancing is such a huge part of my life I am not sure what I would do without it. I am happy that I can inspire people with my dancing, encourage kids to become dancers, and touch the hearts of many.

Famous Ballerinas

Alvin Ailey: (1931-1989) He is recognized for transforming African-American dancers in the 20th century and popularizing modern dance.

Martha Graham: She related to the realism of the human experience and management to reflect this within a new language of movement. She was a passionate person and her work was very much appreciated.

Ana Pavlova: She studied the Imperial Ballet School. She made her debut at 17 and established her own school of dance in 1912. Afterwards she spent the rest of her career on tour.

The Future of Dance

Dance has come a long way over the hundreds of years. I can only say that it will only get better and stronger. There are so many people out there in the world who have a love for dance like I do. Dance has and always will be a part of me and I hope it will be in this world for many to see forever. Dance is one of the many wonderful arts we have in this world. With its strong emotions and heart squeezing actions anyone can dance, anyone can love, and anyone can feel. Dance is me.
