The all powerfull opinion.
Constructive (or not) criticism.
Writers thrive on this all important spice. Without it we could wither away; starved for the attention we don't know we're getting till we're nothing more than stale report writers. After all how can we cope with the reality of our talents if no one ever tells us? Other people's opinion, likes or dislikes need to be known.
Critique us so we know.
To become better at the craft.
'Hey your spelling is terrible, ever hear of spell checker?' 'Fantastic! I didn't see that twist coming.' 'More! Write more! and soon!' 'Sorry but I find your character unbelievable.' 'Great stuff!'
Good or bad. Constructive or demolishing. Most of us are thick skinned and can handle it. Of course we would all love the greatest praise in the world, but this is reality... and the web. Flames abound on the bandwidth. But we're all writers here so we can respond as such. (at least I consider myself a writer, others may have differing opinions and rightly so).Comments, critiques are the life blood of this ancient art. How would I , or anyone else, ever know if not told? While I haven't had the time to read alot of the material here, I do try to post a comment. Or at the very least click that 'I Like It' button when I really do ... well... like it. Too many stories here have nothing, but a number in the "read" column.
Liked it? Tell us.
Hated it? Tell us that too.
Think a sentence is clumsy. Or a paragraph doesn't make sense? A word is always spelt incorrectly? Point it out.
Could I be more diplomatic in my commments, possibly. If I see some horrible and consistant spelling mistakes, I gotta point them out. (If I have offended anyone I am sorry, sometimes I can be a little blunt). I wish people would point out mine. For some reason, I always want to put an extra "T" in writter. See! Or am I mistaken, and it is supposed to be there? Could someone let me know please?
Alright that was an obvious and rather lame fishing attempt for a comment. But hey, if that's what it takes...
Come on people. Critique us.
