The Circle of Desires

Editorial and opinion

This is an enlightening quote. When I thought of it, I asked myself the question; "Why do we feel ungrateful when ours or someone else’s health is in jeopardy?" We have the right to feel even if it seems wrong to feel a certain way. So when this happens to me, I try to identify why I feel this way because if I am feeling it, there must be an underlying reason.

It's in our nature to continue to desire, but why is it that when our health and happiness is in jeopardy we think our desires are so trivial?

Without desires we wouldn't have goals and without goals, we would lack motivation and inspiration, which would ultimately forfeit our health and happiness.

One can only conclude:

It's easy to misuse our desires and become greedy and forgetful of what's really important in life.

It's difficult to use our desires moderately enough to avoid selfishness, but powerfully enough to achieve health and happiness.
