Amongst the darker shadows tonight

A group of youths will share delight

By bringing death and misery to their victims on the street

As the poor helpless victim makes a getaway on her feet

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As they chase her down she is running for her life

Not to be the next victim of the crazy gang with their knifes

Fear grips the night as they catch their intended prey

As the poor victim stares up at them before they begin to slay

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Screaming for dear mercy and for them to spare her life

But these kids only listen to their knifes

Cutting the flesh her screams rain out loud

The mothers of these fiends, they should be so proud

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The blood fills the street and begins to trickle away

In the normal life of our youth's gang land crime today

The victim lays helpless her life has been taken

Another sad statistic for the family left heartbroken

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The politicians are useless and have no solution

To this evil culture which is in it's evolution

Violent games and absent female parents you are both to blame

Now you should cross your legs and fill up with shame.

Great job on this.I liked this one alot. It's so true. There are so many things like this going on today.I touched bases on this on one of my poems. So many families lose loved one to violence everyday and it's so sad.Kudos.

yep!!! agree totally the world seems to have lost it's plot or at least some of those who dwell within it,i think the core of the problem is discipline, respect and lack of moral values, but i'm not in the blame game and won't judge, i only want justice for the families and a deterrent to future events like this occuring, thanks for your comments viper really appreciate it.BD

hay yeah i agree with the others this is so true which is sad. stupid kids in gangs they dont even think they just act they come from broken homes and cant think of a less violent way of getting there anger out. thats one of the many effd up things hapening in the world today. there anger turns into frustration then into knife weilding violence. hehe sorry i feel real angry(not to the extent of knife weilding violence) about this topic and just want to slap those kids win gangs with knifes in the face and tell 'em to wake up and tell 'em violence solves nothing.... ehem yes a brilliant poem though my friend hehe!!

Hi Puddle of ink your sentiments were echoed here, the problems in the uk as well as other places in the world are that there is just too much pent up anger like you say and these youths don't know how to channel their aggression.
I would suggest that local councils have an obligation to create youth centres or boxing centres but there is evidence that they choose to ignore these places and continue with their recreational habits and bad ways.

Certainly our prisons are all full and even if you were found guilty of a knife crime being under 16 you might expect to receive a more lenient sentence and go to a juvenile centre and not the general population prisons.

Thanks for your comment in any case and it's about time good
defeated evil so send in Buffy lol :-)

I am using your words for my Year 10 PSE lessons. We live in a little rural town in Wales and to them knife crime is just something that happens to 'others' - they are unaware of that gang mentality can creep into any community. Thankyou for your raw honest words. I am hoping to open their eyes and make them think.

Hi Alex thank you for your comments and i hope my words will help to inspire others that this thing is becoming too random and needs to be nipped in the bud, there isn't enough love in society and i am thinking along the lines that social bonding skills are in much needed in order to prevent a full scale epidemic of this gangland culture.

You will have probably been aware of happy slapping then there was the recording of abusive attacks on completely innocent people by gangs using mobile phones to record their wicked deeds, now we have reached end game where the ultimate price is now being paid for the neglect of our young, if parents were doing their jobs properley and the children were being monitored in this crazy pc world none of this would be happening.

Single parents is the norm and i think a child needs two guardians to protect it as one becomes tired and over whelmed by single responsibility and in the end the child can pretty much do what he or she chooses which leads to joining gangs as this is the cool thing to do and then you have agree to take challenges in order to swear your allegience to these groups which can lead to confrontations with others.

hi! b. u give a very vivid portrayal of the mean streets. it's like i've walked through them. lack of parental guidance is definitely one of the causes of spread of gangism. u r into social awareness. may ur spirit spread. lol. ;-)

Hello bubbly these are the words which captivate the mean streets of britain where a child yes a young boy of no more than 16 is killed virtually every day i know there are some countries like south africa where people are being murdered to order for their body parts which is even more scary this the 21st century and it's not going to get any better we are in evolutional decline if there is such a definition thanks for your reply.
You are quite right parents or should i say kids are having kids and as is the norm single parents are abdicating their responsibilities they should be made to see the victim and their families as part of their rehabilitation maybe these morons would then have their conscious pricked.
