The Leadership Declaration

Poetry By: forevamore123
Editorial and opinion

I recently attended a leadership conference in Washington, D.C., and one of our assignments was to make something that defined our personal definition of leadership.

So this is what I came up with. "The Leadership Declaration".

It's not about anyone in particular, but probably closely resembles my mother. And as I've said plenty of times before, my poetry skills need some serious recalibration. [If, of course, that made any sense whatsoever.]

The Leadership Declaration

Leader, leader standing tall

You are the fairest of them all

Your strength, your courage

Your borderline intellectuality

Has taught me, personally,

To go forth and achieve!

Your class, your punctuality

Your superhuman actions

Are far from lacking personal mentality

Though the world knows nothing

Of how incredible you really are,

I respect you greatly

Because you don't need a fancy car,

You don't have to be world renown

For me to admire you more

As far as I can tell,

You're so much more valuable than what you say you're for

Leader, leader standing tall

You are definitely the fairest of them all!

Your life may not be a perfect Shangri-La,

But it's so much more meaningful,

The pleasure of ending with a great "Tah-da!"
