The Greater Depression

Amongst the silent;

Where is the history?

Where is the national hero?

Where is the child that had a voice?

Where is the humility amongst leaders?

Where is the control over the world?

Where is the answer to mankind’s fate?

Where is the interest of life over country?

Where is the sanctuary if not the free world?

Where is the security?

Where is the faith?

Where is the hope?

~

We sit and stare at a bumbling man

Talking about saving America

Are they so blind?

Are they so careless in pride?

This is about the rest of us too…

Here, here! Faith? What faith? We only seem to see it when it is politically expedient to show the trappings of faith. Have faith and hope and security been reduced to buzz-words on a speech writers word processor?

Yes, unfortunately, we sit and stare.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment in poetry format. It carries a srong message thjat needs to be said, over and over...

I try. It really is a sad thing... hopefully the next appeal for the bail is the wiser. What gets me so annoyed is the inability for politicians to come to an agreement. But that is humanity for you; as long as we rule the world we will be the one's to destroy it.
My father already lost $5,000 from his retirement savings... What awaits us all when this thing totally crashes? It will be more than just economic struggles... some countries could take advantage...

great poem. very deep, yet another branch has grown. i don't quite know what else to say, but i really loved it
