The Noisy Silence of the House

Poetry By: poethead20
Editorial and opinion

I was sitting in a much too silent house when this one came to me. Usually there are kids cooking or babies crying or something like that. But this day there was none of that. And I am one of very few who actually enjoy the noise. Anyways, enjoy!

Ever growing silence,

The deafening sound it makes.

Without the talking of the oak,

Or the screaming of a furnace.

No chatter of the fish,

Or gurgling from the john.

Ever growing silence,

The deafening sound it makes.

With no cooing or crying,

Or whirring or sizzling.

No clinging or clanging,

Or pattering or banging.

Ever growing silence,

The deafening sound it makes!
