You don’t have to choose the dark place
Why are you hiding?
Why sneak around?
What are you scared of;
And can’t say out loud?
Why are you playing games?
Who are you trying to kid?
No good ever came
From telling fib after fib
Deception is a very dark place
A desolate space
Filled with fear, dread and waste
Burdens and disgrace
Why feed that deceit
And the hell it entreats
When you could come clean
And give your soul peace.
