Me, Myself, and I in the Next Five Years
After a day's work in the office, I was lying in my bed when I suddenly found myself looking to wonder about how things are going to be in the future. Would I own a car that I really like? Would I have a really good looking bachelor's pad? Would I meet the girl of my dreams and marry her? Could my aspirations in life come true in a span of five years? I'm really sleepy, but will I find the answers to the questions that are bugging me right now?
Oh! It's nine o'clock in the morning. I think I've overslept. It's time to go to work and I'm late. It's good that I have my condominium near the city where my office is located. It's so good that I can have breakfast early in the morning using this multi-tasking device that I purchased last month. It offers a whole new perspective to the word "innovation". I'm glad I have my Honda Accord 2016 so I can breeze through traffic in the city.
I'm an expert in my field. I just finished my master's degree in Industrial Engineering focusing on Production Systems. I have made many improvements in my work that greatly contributed in the cost reduction strategies of the organization that I'm in. I'd like to study another master's degree in Industrial Engineering now focusing on Operations Research. It would really help me widen my knowledge about optimization methods that I can apply in real-world situations in general and my work in specific.
Then I realized that it is Sunday. I really thought that I'm going to be late for work. What's this coat and tie doing here? Oh, here's a card and it says it's my wedding day and I'm very clueless. My girlfriend's going to hate me for being late. What? I have a girlfriend? Who is she? I think this is one of those episodic moments when a groom loses his memory for a while because of severe nervousness before the wedding. Unaware of what will happen, I put on my coat and tie and decided to go to the venue as written in the card.
As I walked into the aisle, my parents accompanied me and assured me that it will be alright. As I approached my bride, I held her hand and said to her my most used pick-up line "I'm --- and you are?" Then she turned to me and said it's time to wake up.
I'm suddenly awakened and realized that I have been dreaming all this time. These thoughts made me think of what I've been doing in this present time so that I can achieve all of my goals in life. Now I promised that from this day forward, I will work hard to reach all my dreams and aspirations and marry that mysterious bride.
