My realisation - best described by the lyrics of KT...
I was born in the north of England but spent my childhood in Kent. Starting out as a daydreaming, chatty kid from a poor family who loved music and singing. I slowly became a confused, lonely, slightly depressed teenager with no clue about the future.
Never knowing what I wanted to do I eventually settled on Secretarial college. This choice transported me to the 'big city' and I worked and lived for many years in London. My existence was one of a typical 'Bridget Jones' - a bemused, socialising 'girl about town' working as a secretary.
Of course with every coming of age story, there is inevitably a period of time filled with traumatic events. For me this transpired into; divorce, followed by an emotional breakdown, a move back to my parents, a period of unemployment and finally a move back to London! Financially I've lurched from being poor - well off - poor again to just surviving!
After several years of soul searching I discovered Buddhism and became a spiritual activist. With a fresh belief in true love, respect and friendship, I met my soul mate. We married and procrastinated for a while in Central England (Midlands). This gave me plenty of time to fulfill my role as a stressed and slightly miserable step mother, but all of that was to change.....
....with a renewed confidence in taking chances we took a leap of faith and decided to explore the world! My husband and I - two English expats contstantly finding new places to live, new ideas to make money and figuring out how to make dreams a reality!
Now living in Malta I am finally the free, adventure seeking, creative spirit I was always meant to be. I spend my days designing websites, making natural health products, getting fit, researching and connecting to the outside world via my iPad and PC.
The future?! Well, that's still for us to determine....
