And under the sheets the boy awakes

Light in his eye, his dream creates

Heroes of ancient wars

Men of strength and truth

However hopeless and failed the cause.

And beyond this room his sister dreams

A head full of wonder and crystal love schemes

She dreams of bowers and of sweet roses

However come gentle in his action he pauses

Knowing as certain he is all that this love is

Is the last line referring to a suitor for the girl? Or, back in the other room.

I often find it so wonderful when a poem is written like this. Just a simple little scene from life. I bet that girl never forgot those moments in bed.

My first read, I thought of a brother and a sister, having totally different thoughts on life.

After a few reads, it's actually two total strangers lying in bed pondering their future.

It's probably a patterned quilt.
Cool.
