"I'M telling you guys, I have some kind of powers." Zee shouted at his parents as he walked out the door.
"I'm just worried, Zee." His mom said, coming after him. "You're too old to be pretending." But Zee had already run off.
"Oh, he'll grow up sometime. And he'll be back soon." Zee's father assured her. Zee stood looking in through the window. He looked for what seemed like a long time at his father. Finally he heard his father's voice inside of his head. His mother had no reaction to what he had heard. He knew he was different, how many kids could do something like that? He knew of no others with such good hearing, he had to have some kind of power. He had experiences like this quite often, but only when he really concentrated on some one.
Zee then decided to head off. He didn't know where he was going to go, but he knew he was leaving for good. In the end, he decided to go to Nik's mansion. He would the other Gazer, his sister Levi, and they would have one of their meetings and then they could all run away, together. He went over to Adam's house. Adam and Levi were always hanging out. When he arrived at the house, Adam said they were busy.
"But this is really important, I, uh, need her to, uhh..."
"Look, if you want her go to a stupid Gazers meeting, then she's not coming. Me and her have our own club. We calll ourselves the sni-" Just then Levi appeared in the door way.
"Zee, what are you doing here?" She questioned.
"Oh, he's just trying to get you to come to another stupid Gazers meeting." Adam said.
"I'd like to go." She said in a robotic sounding voice. Then she slowly walked out the door.
Adam at first had no idea what was going on, but then he saw Zee staring at Levi with unwavering eyes.
"Hey, stop or I'll-" Zee sprinted away to Levi, who was now a ways away from the house. Adam started to run after him, but he wasn't fast enough. He had no idea what had happened to Levi. It was nighttime, so he obviously couldn't see far. He gave up and returned to his house. "I'll get him sometime" He thought.
Zee caught up to Levi, who was sitting behind the trunk of a huge oak tree. "I hate it when you do that." She said to Zee. "How many times do I have to tell you not to take control of my mind. Why do you want to go to Nik's, anyway?" She asked.
Zee took a deep breath. "I'm running away." He replied.
"I thought you might sometime." Levi said. "Well, let's get going."
D.C. was kind of scary to walk through at night, especially Nik's neighborhood. But they eventually arrived at his house and rung the bell. A very tired looking Nik answered the door. "What the hell are you guys doing here, it's almost freakin' midnight." He said angrily.
"We need a place to stay." Zee informed him of the fight with his parents.
"Whatever, you can sleep in a guest bedroom." He told them.
The next morning Nik asked Zee and Levi where they planned to go. "My parents won't let you live her." Nik told them. "They'll probably kill me if they find out that your here right now."
"Well, I've been thinking." Zee said. "We can't be the only people in the world with these special abilities, so I think we should find more of us."
"Yeah, but where are we going to go?" Nik asked.
"Well, I was thinking a different country, maybe..." Zee tried to think of a country. He didn't know much about geography.
"How about Japan, I've always wanted to go there." Levi suggested.
"Well, then." Nik said. "Japan it is."
