So… I'm not Hailey anymore… I could feel my throat tighten and dry up.

"No, no, no! Hailey, you are still the person you were before, just in a different body." She looked at me with her brown eyes.

I felt a little better.

She wolf-sighed, "You know we don't age?"

"Really?" I asked, surprised.

"Well not until we have enough control to stop phasing. It's a lot harder than you think. You have to go through all these things, like cutting your beautiful long hair, and learning how to use your wolf body. Oh and you get this strange tattoo on your arm." She motioned her head to her shoulder. "It only happens if you have this epiphany, when you know that you're a werewolf, a part of our tribe. It's the greatest thing about being a part of this."

One thing popped in my mind, "Does it hurt?"

She showed me Jacob, he was in pain. She showed me a black wolf and Jacob-wolf looking at each other in their eyes. He had to bow down like a weight was pulling him down. He refused to bow, and then the pain was gone and Jacob ran. There weren't any words, just flashes of pictures and movements, oh and feelings.

"Leah did you have to use me as an example?" Jacob was annoyed.

"Better than using Sam, or Paul…" Leah said smugly. "They aren't a good example for Hailey."

Jacob stopped running but didn't say anything.

"It's the most meaningful example Jacob… you know I didn't mean anything."

"Yeah, it's okay." He started running again.

It was quiet all over again, but I heard waves rushing, and the sounds of paws pounding on the ground lightly. Jacob was thinking about different things, and then I saw someone.

"Who's the girl?" I asked. "She's beautiful…"

"Her names Reneseme," Leah said. "And defiantly not human." That explained her beauty, she was inhumanly beautiful.

Jacob changed course.

"Can I see the ocean?" I asked curiously. "I've been hearing it, smelling it and I never got to see it."

"Are you serious? You've never seen the beaches yet?" She asked, shocked.

"Well, no, not really."

Leah was ecstatic, "Well come on!" She started running west… I'm not sure how I knew that, wolf thing?

Leah laughed… mentally.

I followed her, still getting used to this new body. It was different, I felt new sensations, like how the wind went through my fur… it was nice.

We padded our way to a cliff.

It was beautiful; I loved how the waves sent little bursts of light towards us, and the smell… It was salty, in a good way; the moon shone brightly unto the black waters and lit the beaches in a light blue tint. I wanted to cry.

"It's so beautiful…" I thought silently to myself… oh yeah, NOTHING is to myself anymore.

"Yeah it is, this and Seth were the only things keeping me here in La push. But now, I have the pack, and you. I don't have a reason to run away from this." Leah was relatively happy, ignoring my last comment.

"I missed this place…" I sat down and listened to the night, crickets, and sleeping people, so peaceful. I closed my eyes and drifted away.

I dreamt that Seth and I were little again, about nine, digging with plastic shovels and putting sand in our hair. Not a care in the world…

It was a rare sunny day, and so we went out to the beach to play in the sand. No one dared to go swimming, the water was too cold.

"Hally, do you ever think that I'll be a wolf like in the stories?" He asked with a grin on his face.

I thought about that for a bit.

"Seth, I think that you'd be a GREAT wolf!" I laughed and Seth joined in. "If you do become a wolf, do you promise that we'll still be best friends?" He nodded with his big grin, making me smile even more.

"We're cousins Hally, of course we'd still be best friends." Seth shook his sand covered hair and looked at me his smile faded. "I wish you could be a wolf too, that would be awesome…"

We fell quiet, the waves still crashed against the rocks.

"Do you think that I'd be a good wolf? If girls can be wolves?" I asked Seth. I felt tears starting to build up in my eyes. I loved Seth, not a romance love, but a brotherly love. He was really my only friend, and he lived so far away. If he was going to be a wolf, he'd live forever, and since girls couldn't be wolves, I'd be left out.

He wiped the tear that slipped down my cheek with his sleeve gently. "Hally, I think that you'd be the best girl-wolf ever. Maybe i-if you believe, you can be a guardian wolf too, and we can live forever, and keep each other safe." I knew he was aching to say 'Leah too'.

"Even Leah, 'cause we don't want to leave her out." I said quietly.

He grinned and hugged me tightly. I hugged him back.
