CHAPTER 44: TRANSFER

(Jacob Black’s Point Of View)

I woke up to the phone being rang. I groaned a little and I felt Carlie move beside me. I opened my eyes to see my wife move more into me. I smiled at her, but when the phone rang again I moaned and looked at the clock to see that it was three thirty in the morning.

“Jake?” Renesmee asked me and she slowly tried to sit up.

“I’ll get it Carlie honey. You get some sleep.” I promised her.

I kissed her cheek before getting up from the bed. I looked over my shoulder to see her smiling at me. I smiled back and grabbed the phone in the kitchen.

“Hello?” I asked a little annoyed.

“Jake?”

Okay so what would happen that Seth would call me at this time of the morning? Obviously something happened. I was immediately awake.

“Yeah. Did something happen?” I asked.

“Noelle came running back saying her and Rosalie found a scent of new vampire. They think that we’ve been watched. Rosalie didn’t come back so the vampires are looking for her.” Seth said.

“You’re kidding.” I whispered and I heard the squeal of tires in the background.

“No. Look Jake I’m driving over there now. Get your things ready. Carlisle and the others think that it is best if we all were together again like before so that none of us are easier to get.” Seth explained.

I nodded.

“Okay. I’ll get our things ready now.” I agreed, “I’ll see you in a little then?”

“Yeah. See you soon Jake.” Seth said.

I hung up and then went to my room as fast as I could. As I did I turned on all of the lights. Renesmee turned over in the bed to look at me as I turned on my room light. I sat down beside her and she carefully turned over. I could’ve sworn that overnight her stomach grew an inch and truthfully, it might’ve been. I carefully picked her up and I set her on my lap.

“Jake?” she asked tiredly.

“Seth called. He is coming here to pick us up. We are going to be living at the Cullens now until all of this mess is sorted out.” I explained to her.

“Why?” she asked.

I sighed. She’d want to know. She’d get angry if she didn’t. She had the right to know too. Things were getting worst and she would need to stay protected. Not only that, but calm. She couldn’t afford to get too many surprises.

“Rosalie’s missing. Her and Noelle found a vampire scent and Noelle was faster coming to the Cullens then Rosalie. Rosalie never showed.” I explained to her.

“What?” Renesmee went a little white.

“I’m going to pack our things. I’m sure that most of your clothes will still be there and everything like that. I’m sure that we’ll be in your room at least.” I told her.

She nodded. I could tell that she was a little scared. I understood. I was a little out of it myself. Irina had been watching us the whole time and Renesmee seemed to know that too. It was so she knew when we’d be the most surprised for an attack.

“You can just stay here if you want. I’ll take care of it.” I promised her as I kissed her forehead.

She nodded. I placed her back on the bed and I grabbed my suitcase and I began to go through my drawers. She placed some of her clothes from the honeymoon in there before so I packed them up as well as all of the clothes that were mine that I was able to fit in there. When there was still some things left for me then I grabbed another bag and put the rest of my things in there.

As if on cue I heard Seth come up the driveway. Renesmee got up as well and she insisted on carrying the smaller bag while I took the larger and heavier suitcase. I shut off all of the lights behind me and I let Renesmee go out before me. She stumbled a little so Seth rushed out of his truck and grabbed the bag and suitcase from us. He placed them in the back seat so that I could place my arm around Renesmee to help her.

I placed her into the front seat and once that was done I went into the back behind her. Seth went to the driver’s seat and began drive fast down the roads out of La Push.

“Do you know any other information?” I asked.

“No. Nothing. I just knew that it was better if all of us are together. I called Leah and Demitri and they might already be there.” Seth answered.

“Did you think of Charlie?” Renesmee asked worriedly.

“Yes, but we can’t keep him at the Cullens too. We thought of him and since he won’t be able to stay at the Cullens without him figuring out who we are so I talked to Embry and Quil and they agree that we will patrol around his house to make sure that he is safe.” Seth promised her.

She nodded and looked a little more relaxed at that. Soon enough we were at the Cullen house. We entered it with my carrying the bags and Seth helped Renesmee out of the truck. I could tell that she hated being treated like this so I knew that later tonight that I would apologize to her. Renesmee was right. She could take care of herself.

Once in the house, everyone greeted us warmly. Leah was in the former with Demitri, but she had a smile on her face when she saw us. Wow. The bloodsucker really was changing her. I haven’t seen Leah happy like that in so long. Before Bella even came to Forks in the first place. Even her eyes were glittering like they did when she was with Sam.

“You look wonderful Carlie.” Leah said to her.

I looked at Leah and Renesmee smiled.

“Thank you.” She said.

“You are growing.” Demitri added.

“Really?” both Renesmee and I asked.

“Oh yeah. Maybe you two haven’t noticed as much of us, but you have to remember that we don’t see Renesmee every day. Her stomach is expanding and you don’t really notice it because it’s going slowly, but none of us have seen her in a while. Your stomach defiantly grew.” Leah explained.

I never saw it like that. When I looked at Renesmee, I guess she did, but I didn’t think it was that noticeable.

“Oh yeah.” Quil nodded, “Don’t worry. The same thing happened with Claire.”

“Where is she?” Renesmee asked.

“Sleeping in the guest room. I didn’t want to wake her. She’s been too stressed lately.” Quil answered.

Renesmee nodded.

“You’re room is still free Renesmee. We thought that maybe the two of you would like it better than a couch.” Sam said.

Both Renesmee and I looked at him and I gave him a glare and Renesmee looked away giving him the cold shoulder as well.

“Jake I didn’t mean it to sound like it did.” Sam said.

“Shut up. It’s one thing to try and pursue such a stupid and dangerous idea, but to blame it all on someone else is a different story Sam.” I growled at him with my anger rising.

Renesmee placed a hand on mine.

“He’s not worth it.” she whispered before turning to Sam and saying, “I don’t care what special order and control you hold or what animal you turn into or the fact that you have Emily and those girls. You hurt Charlie and I will make sure that you will suffer the consequences and that you will have.”

He looked just as angry as Renesmee but didn’t say anything. Everything was silent until Renesmee told him, “you don’t deserve the hospitality that the Cullens have given you.”

She then took my wrist and led me past everyone and up the stairs. When we were at her door she turned to me and I could see that she had tears in her eyes. I immediately dropped our things and I placed my hands on her shoulders.

“What is it honey?” I asked her.

“I hate the idea of him prancing around and endangering people’s lives.” Renesmee said.

“Then why are you crying?” I asked her in shock because I was thinking that the kids were hurting her.

“I don’t know!” she said a little angrily.

I chuckled and leaned down to kiss her. She gratefully did it back and when I was done. I looked at her. She looked tired since she was no longer sick but still getting over it. She also looked happy.

“Can I also tell you that last night was amazing?” I murmured in her ear.

She giggled and I smiled and wiped away her tears.

“Yes. That was a great stress reliever.” Renesmee smiled when I was done.

“I’m stressed now. Should we make it even better than last night?” I asked and she giggled again.

“NO! YOU TWO SHOULD KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS!” I heard Embry call from downstairs.

I shook my head and Renesmee laughed out loud and we smiled at each other. She kissed me and said out loud, “no promises.”

I laughed and we kissed again before going into her room to sleep.
