Happy New Year Readers!! :D
CHAPTER 45: MORNING NEWS
(Renesmee Black’s Point Of View)
I woke up to be alone in my bed. I looked around after turning on the lamp light beside my bed to see that Jacob had already unpacked my things to where they were before. His things were still in the suitcase and I decided that I would give him a couple of my dresser drawers.
I got out of bed and went to get some new and not as used clothes on when I realized that I could no longer fit into my tiny self anymore. I probably grown in five to eight sizes already. Jeans with a size five was not going to fit me any longer.
I sighed and decided to find my first prom dress. It went down to my ankles last time I wore it so hopefully it would cover me at least to my knee caps. Mind you I wore it three years ago, but I didn’t grow that much.
I put on the ice blue dress to see that when my stomach was lifting it up, it went almost to short. I sighed and took it off again. I placed it back in my closet and I then went into my dresser to find my pair of sweatpants. I put them on. They were tight and I then found the shirt that I’d been wearing at Jacob’s mostly. Of course I changed, but this one was the one who stretched easier so it was therefore more comfortable to wear.
Once that was done I made the note that I would need larger sized bras too. I found a sports bra and put it on before putting on my shirt and I then brushed my hair and teeth before walking downstairs. I saw Paul and Embry asleep on the couches and the twins in their cribs. All of them were sleeping except for Beth. I smiled and she smiled at me and stood up in the crib to see me. She began laughing and I got to her as quickly as I could so that she wouldn’t wake up the others.
She giggled and I picked her up. She smiled and I heard the others talking in the kitchen. With Beth I walked into the kitchen. Everyone looked up at me to smile. Even Sam did after everything I told him last night. All of the pact, Edward, EJ, Jacob, Esme, Jasper, Noelle, and Carlisle were in the room
“Sorry. She was up and I didn’t want her to wake the others up.” I explained.
“No problem.” Sam said and he picked her up.
I could still see the fury in his eyes. He was lying and trying to seem that everything was okay. I caught my sigh and began to ignore it. I walked over to stand beside Jacob and he looked me over.
“Where are the Volturi?” I asked.
“Hunting.” Carlisle answered.
My mouth dropped and he immediately put up his hands as if he was going to defend himself against and attack.
“Don’t worry. It’s just animals like us. I told them that since this was our territory and that we were working with them that they wouldn’t hunt or kill any humans.” Carlisle explained.
I sighed with relief.
“Good.” I said then realized it, “Where is Emmett?”
“In his room. He’s been upset ever since he learned the news about Rosalie.” Esme said lowly and Noelle dropped her head in what looked like guilt beside her.
“So she’s really gone?” I asked.
They all nodded.
“At least she’s not anywhere near us and we can’t find a scent anywhere.” Carlisle said weakly.
I looked at both Carlisle and Esme. Though Alice, Rosalie, Edward, Emmett, and Jasper weren’t really their children they treated them like they were. I could see it in there faces. They wouldn’t be able to handle loosing another daughter or son. They almost lost Jasper when Alice died and Emmett was the same way.
“Maybe we should go shopping.” Jasper said from across the room to try and take the tension away from his parents.
I looked over at him and raised my eyebrows.
“What exactly is that supposed to mean?” I asked him.
Everything froze.
“Nothing, I mean…you just look uncomfortable. You’re stretching your clothes.” Jasper explained.
“So what I’m fat now?” I asked him.
“What?! No! No! Fat and pregnant are a big difference!” Jasper defended.
I looked him over.
“Better be.” I said and I sat at the table.
Jacob went behind me and he began to massage my shoulders comfortingly to calm me down. What was that all about anyway? I never act like that!
“It’s just your hormones Carlie.” Edward said gently.
“Oh.” I realized. “Sorry Jasper.”
“We’ll call it okay as long as you don’t ever give me that glare ever again.” Jasper joked.
I giggled.
“No promises.” I said.
Jacob snickered and kissed my cheek.
“I meant to take you, but there was no time. We were so busy and you were sick and tired lately.” Jacob explained.
“It’s okay sweetheart.” I promised him.
“I’ll take you honey.” Esme offered.
“I’ll come too. The more that come the better right?” Claire asked.
“Me too.” Leah said.
Edward and Jacob looked at each other while Quil looked at them too.
“I don’t know.” all three of them said it at the same time and Jacob’s hands froze on my back.
“We’ll be okay Jacob. Besides I have the feeling that no one will want to mess with a moody pregnant lady.” Claire grinned.
I giggled.
“Please?” I asked them.
Jacob looked at Edward again and he then looked at Carlisle before looking down at me and telling me, “How about this? Carlisle if you looked at the kids and Renesmee and approve I think that you will be fine to go Carlie. Are you willing to do that Carlisle?”
“Of course.” Carlisle answered without a moment’s hesitation.
“Edward? EJ?” Jacob asked.
“Well.” both of them said in a low voice.
“Please?” I begged them. “I’m going to have Esme who is a vampire and Leah who is a werewolf. I’ll be safe. And if something happens then all of you are only a phone call away.”
They were silent until Edward sighed.
“I agree to it then.” Edward said.
“EJ?” I asked. “I might as well get your approval. I’m going anyway.”
“Fine. But be careful okay.” EJ said.
I nodded.
“Do you want to eat before the examination?” Jasper asked.
“You have to ask?” I scoffed and everybody laughed.
*
Jacob came up with me to Carlisle’s office. I’d finish eating and I felt better. While I was in the washroom Carlisle was setting up. He was putting on gloves when I came in.
“Just sit on the bed Renesmee.” Carlisle said.
I did so and Jacob shut the door behind me.
“So what are we going to do?” I asked him.
“An ultrasound first. Just to see the children and the heartbeats.” Carlisle explained and Jacob grabbed a chair from the corner and placed it beside the bed so that he could be beside me.
“If you could hold up your stomach Renesmee then that would be great.” Carlisle said and I did so to see that it actually did look a little bigger.
Carlisle came over to me with the equipment and he gently put the gel on my stomach. He apologized after I cringed because it was cold. After rubbed it, he took the scanner and placed if over my stomach. All of us looked at it and I could see the good outlines of every single child.
It was then I realized that I was at almost four months in. I almost didn’t even remember!
“Their growing a little faster then a normal child, but that’s about it. By almost another month. Wait.” Carlisle said.
He turned it and we looked again.
“What?” Jacob asked scared.
“Nothing extremely bad. One baby is growing normally. It’s smaller than the others. It’s at the right pace.” Carlisle said puzzled.
“So it’s like the runt?” I asked.
“Something like that.” Carlisle answered.
“How is that possible?” Jacob asked.
“I don’t know. Maybe it was conceived at a different time, maybe it’s in a different branch with egg. Maybe it just won’t take the food like it should. I don’t exactly know.” Carlisle admitted.
“So could that kill it?” I whispered and grabbed Jacob’s hand.
Carlisle looked at us.
“I’m sorry. I truly am, but I can’t tell you for sure. It seems unlikely, but you never know. It’ll depend on how much the child will take. The others seem to be growing nicely.” Carlisle said.
I looked down at my stomach. How could it be? I had the possibility of killing one of my babies. Jacob squeezed my hand and Carlisle took the scanner off me as Jacob moved closer and I leaned into him so that I could rest my head on his shoulder. No. I wasn’t going to loose another person in my family. I was going to have every single one of these kids.
