CHAPTER 51: MISSING ROSALIE

(Emmett Cullen’s Point Of View)

All I could think about was Rosalie. I guess that it also didn’t help that the room that we shared had many pictures of us in it. Our wedding pictures and just pictures of us. We even had a couple of black and white pictures of us when we were human. Whatever our families had before we got turned.

The memories in this room weren’t helping either. Everything about this room reminded of me of her. We decided to keep the walls a white. On the far side of the room before the glass wall and windows we had a large amount of books on one side and CDs on the other. We didn’t have as much as Edward though. He had a large variety of music that he had and he kept every single CD that he ever had. I think that he has some cassette tapes and records somewhere in his room. If not then Carlisle has them and Edward replaced those with CDs that had the same songs.

Also unlike Edward we had a couch and a bed. They were black and comfortable to be on. The couch was in front of the television that I installed.

I just laid down on the bed. I hadn’t moved around a lot for a couple of days. I haven’t left this room since I came back that night. No one has really tried to talk to me. My guess was that they didn’t want to bother me or that they didn’t know what to say.

So I was surprised when there was a knock at my door.

“Emmett it’s me.” I heard Esme say.

I told her to come in and I saw her slowly come into the room and shut the door behind her. I sat up in my bed so that I was against the headboard. She sat beside me and did the same thing.

“I’m worried about her too.” Esme told me, “we all are.”

All I could do is worry about Rosalie. I was worried about what Irina would do to her. I wondered if she was okay right now. If she was even alive. I didn’t even know that. I couldn’t decide if Rosalie being alive was a good thing or not. Of course I never wanted to lose her, but I didn’t want her to stay alive just for me if she was in pain. Irina could’ve ripped her to bits or just ripped off some parts just for the fun of it. I didn’t know what was going on in her mind.

I finally understood why Edward and Jasper were so murderous towards Irina. It was my turn to be in their position. I’d rather it be me that Irina took not Rosalie.

“I don’t know if it would be better if she was alive or dead.” I whispered.

She didn’t know how to answer that so we were quiet for a little bit. I looked around the room. After a couple of minutes Esme took my hand and said, “I have a feeling that if she was gone that you’d feel it.”

“It’s not like a wolf imprint mom.” I told her.

“So? It may not be, but I have a feeling that if she did unfortunately have that come to her that you would feel it. You haven’t felt it yet?” she asked.

“No.” I whispered.

“Then I don’t believe that she is gone.” Esme said.

“Is that good or bad?”

“I don’t know.”

I sighed.

“You know Noelle feels terrible about this. Emmett you know that she never meant for Rosalie to get taken. Rosalie told her to run ahead as fast as she could so that a warning could get to us faster.” Esme said.

I could remember growling at Noelle for that. Esme was right. That wasn’t fair to her. Rosalie wanted us to be safe first. Noelle thought so too, but it wasn’t her fault that something happened to Rosalie.

“I’ll apologize to her later.” I told Esme.

She then took my hand and told me, “Rosalie is okay.”

“I’ve never realized what Edward and Jasper felt like. I never really know. I now understand why they are so protective of themselves and the rest of us. They don’t want any of us to go through something like that. I don’t understand how they can stand staying here and not doing anything.” I explained, “I want to find Irina and I want to rip her to shreds if she hurt or killed Rosalie.”

Esme shook her head.

“Don’t think like that.” She told me.

“I can’t think of anything else.” I admitted.

“Come see the others then. Talk to Jasper and Emmett.” Esme said.

“No.” I whispered.

“You can’t stay up here forever. You can’t hide.” Esme told me.

“No. I won’t hide. I’m thinking of ways to get Irina and Raoul in my hands so I can rip them to pieces.” I growled.

Esme stared at me worried. She looked scared. I’ve never seen Esme be scared at me. I suddenly felt a wave of guilt come to me, but it wasn’t strong enough to get rid of my anger.

“Your right. You shouldn’t leave this room.” Esme whispered.

She got up and opened the door.

“I don’t want you around the others like this. I want you to come only downstairs when you no longer are angry like this. I don’t care how long it will take.” Esme said pausing at the open door.

Before I could answer she left my room and shut the door behind her. I just stared at it. I’ve never seen Esme give the cold shoulder to any of us. She was always easy going and comforting.

But for some reason I knew that I had to do what she told me too. I didn’t want to upset her more.
