CHAPTER 60: NEW INFORMATION
(Sue Clearwater’s Point Of View)
I woke up to the sound of the door opening and shutting. I moaned and then opened my eyes to see that the vampire had dropped a lot of sandwiches for us. I sighed and looked around. The light was one, but when I looked outside the barred window I saw no light come through. It was still night.
I seemed to be the only one awake. Billy and his daughters were sleeping more off into the corner while I was in the middle of the room on a thin mattress with Emily sleeping beside me. Claire’s children were at my feet with Kim.
I was mostly taking care of Emily. Since I was the only one who knew how it felt to give birth I was helping Emily recover since she was still a little over taken by the event. She needed me and I was there to help her.
Being as silent as I could I then walked over to the sandwiches and I looked at them. Just ham and lettuce again on a whole wheat bun. There were two for each of the adults and one for each kid.
I sighed and then walked over to the small room that was the washroom. I then shut the door and then sat on the toilet. I sighed and then looked down at my hands. I still kept hope that Leah was alive because I was sure that if Leah was really dead then Irina and Raoul would be teasing me over it.
When I thought about my little girl I couldn’t help, but think of how sweet she was. Leah and I never really got along. She was a complete daddy’s girl. She would want to be held more by Harry then me when she was younger. She was a tom-boy and got along more with her dad then me. I thought that I had done something wrong, but Leah would still come to me with personal problems and Seth was a bit of a momma’s boy.
Our relationship wasn’t perfect, but after her father died Leah became really distant. She would be gone most nights and wouldn’t talk to me. Her grades started to slip, but when I told her how I cared that she was not being herself she started to pull her grades up again and was home a little more.
Harry always knew what to say to Leah. He always knew how to calm her down. When Sam left Leah for Emily both of us were there for her and I knew that it meant a lot for Leah to have her father be on her side. Sam was horrible to do that to her and though Harry and I understood the situation we hated to see Leah in that pain. Leah was hurt and when everyone was with Sam and Emily getting together both Leah and I were there to comfort her.
I missed my little girl. I wish that I never fought with her and that we were close like Seth and I. He was my little boy and she was my little girl. All I wanted to do was for her to be in my arms. Seth too.
I sighed and then went out of the washroom before I went back to my mattress. As I was looking at tired Emily I thought of how those little babies were. I knew the joys of being a mother and I couldn’t imagine being taken away from my children only a couple of weeks after they were born. Emily described her girls to me and she told me about how Seth imprinted on Jessie.
She also told me how Leah imprinted on a vampire named Demitri. Emily told me how they were thinking of moving somewhere to Europe so that they would be away from Sam and her. I thought about that. I was happy that Leah had found someone that she loved, but I was upset that she was moving away. I wanted to be there for my girl. I also wanted to meet this vampire before my daughter went to live in another country with her.
So I just closed my eyes and cried myself to sleep thinking about my daughter and son. I didn’t know if I would ever see any of them again, but I hope that both of them would know that no matter what…I loved them.
