Chapter Five - Jill
“LA, lets move to LA,” I blurted out at dinner Sunday night. My parents had been the perfect since they won the money.
“Won’t you miss your friends here?” my mother asked.
“No, I hate it here. I wanna get away,” I smiled. We had won $300 million dollars, but we had ordered out every night since.
“I’ll miss the famous Chicago deep dish pizza, though,” my brother said with his mouth full and a string of cheese hanging down his chin. It was finalized Monday night, and we were moving to LA Tuesday morning. We packed up the house and boarded the plane at seven am. I slept on the plane, of course. The house was beautiful. There were seven rooms. The in ground pool was bring put in Saturday morning. I was unpacking boxes in the kitchen with my mom when my dad walked in.
“I just met the neighbors, Paul and Denise. Real nice people. They invited us over for dinner Friday night at eight,” he said, sitting at the bottom of the stairs.
“Any kids?” my mother asked.
“Yep, four boys. One of them is around Jill’s age,” my dad smiled at me. I rolled my eyes. Friday night I got ready early. I straightened my hair. I put on a black skirt and a purple Hollister shirt. We walked next door.
“Let’s be on our best behavior, please. Use your manners, too” my mother said ringing the door bell. A women answered.
“Come on in, the boys should be down in a minute,” she smiled. She looked oddly familiar, like I had seen her somewhere before. My brother and I introduced our selves to Paul and Denise, then sat on the black leather couch as we waited for the boys. They appeared at the bottom of the stairs, and I almost screamed.
“Holy…friggen…Jonas..” I forced out.
