Beep, beep, beep, beep
I was awaken by my irritating alarm going off in my ear. I groaned and groggily sat up in bed. I opened my eyes slowly, revealing the darkness of the early morning. I pressed the off button on my alarm clock and slowly stood up. Ugh, i hate Mondays. I stretch a few times, then walked over to my closet. I picked out a cute shirt and a pair of dark skinny jeans and quickly got dressed. Like always, i decided i'd skip breakfast and just finish getting ready. I walked out of my room and into the bathroom and started doing my business.
Once i was done it was about six forty five. I quickly grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs and over to the door. I slipped on my jacket which happened to be hanging on the arm of a nearby chair and slipped on my brown flats. I swung my bag over my shoulder and headed out the door.
I walked over to my car and stepped in swiftly. I started it up and sat there, letting it get warm for a few seconds. When it finally was warm enough so that i could feel my toes again, i started off to school.
As soon as i drove in the parking lot, everyone was staring at me.. again. You have got to be kidding me. I looked away and rolled my eyes, trying to avoid the viscous glares. Which didn't work very well. They were coming from everywhere. It was like literally every single student here was completely pissed off at me. They can't possibly still be mad that Justin won't be coming here anymore can they? I mean, it's not like it was all my fault. I didn't force him to stay home. He was the one who chose not to come anymore. Although, he did say he's not coming anymore because of our relationship. But still.
As I turned my car off, retrieving the key from the ignition, i noticed people were now starting to whisper again. They'd whisper something into a friend's ear, then they'd both look at me. I rolled my eyes again and stepped out of the car, grabbing my bags with me. I tried not to look anyone in the eye.
I started walking up toward the school. Just like the other day, as soon as i walked by someone, the talking and whispering would all stop and they'd all just stare some more. I sighed and finally entered the lobby. This is going to be a long day, i can already tell.
i slowly opened my eyes to see my mom standing over me, lightly shaking me.
I groaned and rolled over.
"Justin, you have to get up. It's ten thirty. Your tutor's going to be here in a half hour," she informed me. Dammit. I forgot it's Monday. And.. wait a minute.. tutor? She already got me a tutor? I would have thought that would take a while to find someone.. hmm.. guess not.
I threw the covers off of me and signaled for my mom to leave. She walked out the door, closing it behind her and i walked over to my dresser to get dressed. It was so weird not having to go to school on a Monday. I liked it. I didn't have to get up early at all. It was awesome. The only thing i didn't really like about it was that i couldn't see my friends.. or Nina. Nina especially. Even though we're not exactly "best buds" at the moment. But still. Just because we're not friends doesn't mean i don't love her any less. It doesn't mean that i still don't want to be around her even if we don't talk. God, i miss her.
*I made mom was no where around before i picked up my phone from the coffee table infront of me and held it up to my face. Should i? Maybe.. but.. maybe not.. ugh, i don't know. It most likely won't work anyways. I'm not even sure it would be worth it.. but you'll never know until you try, right?
I went into my contacts on my phone and found the name i was looking for. I quickly pressed the call button, not allowing myself enough time to change my mind or hesitate. It rang once, twice, three times, then finally she picked up.
"Hello?" she said in that beautiful voice of hers.
She didn't say anything for a few seconds. "What?"
"Listen.. i know i've told you this before.. but i really miss you. I miss having you here with me. I miss seeing your beautiful smile and your gorgeous eyes. I miss your kisses and just holding you in my arms. I miss everything about you, Nina, and i don't know how much longer i can take to be away from you."
"Aww, Justin your so sweet," she replied. I blushed and thanked God that she couldn't see me at the moment.
"So do you forgive me yet?" i asked her quietly. She sighed into the phone and waited a few moments before responding with an, "I guess so."
I mediately felt my heart start to race with excitement. She forgave me. She actually forgave me! Finally!
"Justin?" she said.
"I love you," she said softly. I beamed.
"I love you too," i replied.
"Um.. do you think it'd be weird if i asked you to be my boyfriend?" she asked. WHAT?! You have got to be kidding me.
"So will you then?"
I felt butterflies fill my stomach as i slowly replied, "of course." *
"Justin? Justin!" I was sadly pulled from my daydream just then by a hand waving across my face. I looked up to se mom standing above me again.
"Huh?" i said.
"Your tutor's here," she told me, "She's in the kitchen."
I nodded and got up off the couch. I slowly followed mom nto the kitchen. Standing there by the island was a woman, i'm guessing around five six or so. She had shoulder length red hair pulled up in a ponytail and was wearing a white and blue plaid shirt with ripped skinny jeans. She had a book bag slung over her shoulder. She looked to be in her early thirties.
Mom and i walked over to her.
"This is my son, Justin," mom introduced me. I shook her hand and said hello.
"So you're the one i'm going to be tutoring huh?" she smiled. I nodded and replied with a "yup."
"I'm Mara," she said. I just smiled at her, not knowing how to reply.
"Well i'll let you guys get started then," mom said. "Oh and by the way Justin, I'm going to be at Mary's for a few hours. I'm helping her finish up the wedding details. I'll be back in a few hours."
"Okay, bye," i told her as i watched her walk out the door.
It was kind of awkward between us for a few seconds before Mara finally said, "Well let's get started. Where're we gonna do this?" she asked me. I couldn't help but feel that she meant something else by that..
"Um.. in here," i said, gesturing to the living room.
"Okay," she said, smiling, then started walking off to the living room. Oh god. I can already tell this is going to be interesting.
I followed her into the living room and we both took a seat on one of the couches.
"Wow, your house in unbelievable," she said, looking around the room.
"Is your bedroom up there?" she asked me pointing to the stairs.
"Uh.. yeah. It is."
"Oh well, i could teach you up there," she offered with a completely emotionless expression on her face.
"Um.. i think it's be better down here. Cause.. you know.. cause of the.. the uh.. the light.."
She nodded, smiling, "I understand. So what should we get started on first?" She asked me, pulling out some books from her bag.
"It doesn't matter," i replied.
"Okay then. How about we start chemistry first?" she suggested, batting her eyelashes at me.
"Uh.. sure," i replied. What the hell was going on here?
She opened the book on her lap to a random page and started reading quietly out loud.
"Ah here we go," she said, pointing at a spot on the page. "Let's do something from the household chemistry section," she said, scooting closer to me. It took everything in me not to move; i didn't want to be rude or anything. But i couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable.
"Let's make..." she flipped through a few pages until she found the one she wanted.
"Let's make a lotion," she said. She looked at me with a smug look on her face.
"Great! Hm.. let's see.. we'll need beeswax, almond oil, cocoa butter, and some sort of fragrance. What's your favorite fragrance, Justin?" She asked looking up at me, batting her eyelashes again.
"Uh.. lavender?" I honestly had no idea what my favorite fragrance was, so i just named a random one that i was familiar with.
"Great," she said, looking back down at the book. I watched as her hand slowly made it's way over to my leg. I scooted farther away from her. What the hell? Last i knew she was here to teach me, not try to seduce me.
She started reading some directions from the book on how to make the lotion. While doing so, i couldn't help but notice her moving closer to me again. I scooted away a second time. She moved closer again. I kept scooting away until i was pushed up against the arm of the couch. Dammit. She moved closer again. God, if i have to deal with this, i may just consider going back to school. Ugh. This is going to be a long lesson.
