I walked into the house from a hard day of swim practice. I sat my swim bag down on the floor as I found a note addressed to 'Rosie.'
We are at your Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny's house. Do whatever you need to do and then we would like you to join us.
I shrugged as I grabbed an apple and walked up stairs. I walked into the bathroom as I stripped and turned on the water to take a shower. I stepped in as I did my regular routine of taking a shower, massing my body with body wash.
I put shampoo on my hands as I massaged them through my fire colored red hair. The lights started flickering on and off as the shower water would turn off and on. All of a sudden the water turned off completely as a not popped out of the drain and as soon as it did the water was running again.
I let out a scream as it scared me. I hurried as I didn't want the letter to get wet so I picked it up.
But it wasn't wet. The letter was perfectly dry. I ran it through the shower water as I pulled it back out, perfectly dry.
In my hands I held a letter that was waterproof. Is that even possible? Or legal?
I flipped it around as it was made out to me as it had my address and everything.
I looked at the sender as it said; 'Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.'
This had to be a prank. Someone must of stuck it in my drain and the water pressure pushed it up.
That's all Icould read before I went in complete shock. I snapped out of it when shampoo ran down my face and into my eye.
I dropped the note as I closed my left eye and placed my hand over it. I grabbed my towel as I replaced my hand with it. When the shampoo was out of my eye I picked the dry envelope off from the bottom of the shower as I ripped it until I couldn't rip it any more. I stepped out of the shower as I slammed theprank mailinto the trash can.
When I finished my shower I got dressed and combed my hair as I left. I jogged across the road to my cousins' house. I ran the doorbell, even though I knew I didn't have to. Uncle Harry answered the door as he flung it open.
"Hey beautiful," he smiled as he wrapped me into a hug, "you know you don't have to ring the doorbell, you can just walk in."
"Yes, I know, but if I just walk in I feel like I'm invading privacy." I sighed.
"Oh, ok then," he said letting me go from his hug, "your cousins and brother are in the basement playing some game."
"Ok, thank you." I smiled as I walked into their huge house and went downstairs.
"Rosie!" James called as he came over and hugged me.
He was very tall for his age, and it made it worse for me because of my shortness. He seems like a giant.
He was kind of my best friend, since we both are home-schooled. He is the same age as me, eleven, but his looks make him look thirteen.
"Oh, I see, you must've gotten the letter." he whispered as he smiled, "I got mine two weeks ago."
My cousin got the same letter as me so it could of been a prank letter but at the same time it couldn't.
"How do you know?" I asked him.
"I had the same expression on my face, scared out of wits." he laughed.
I rolled my eyes. "James you can't tell anyone, because I ripped it into shreds and threw it away." I whispered.
"I was that scared, too, but I went out in the woods and burned the first one. Man did those suckers come! They don't stop coming until you open one." he whispered.
I nodded. "What is it even about?"
"You get the letter if you were accepted to go to Hogwarts, which is a school for Wizards and Witches."
