Cries from the Sea
I comforted me by the darkened sea
The shore strewn with shells
That blinked at me
The moon high above
Glowed with florescent light
As the chilly breezes blew
There was no one else in sight
The dark waters whispered
The soft gentle tones
Of the seas own convictions
Of those who perished alone
I listened intently
As the echoes came through
The eerie screams of people
Who recreated the hell they went through.
I did all but cry
Still the tears drenched my cheeks
But something made me listen
As the sea cried with me
I know not what carnage
Destroyed that fearful night
The fishermen drowned
Never again to be in sight
The moon was still shining
Florescent the light
The shells on the seashore
Were now out of sight.
I turned to walk away
But turned around for one more look
There stood the big ship
That the sea tipped and took!
