Short story By: moonbeamergirl
Fan fiction

I always loved the romantic things Edward says, so I decided to make up a letter he wrote to Bella.

I woke up all alone. Edward had said he was going hunting, but I still hated waking up alone.

I grabbed my toiletries and took a quick shower. When I got back to my room, I noticed a letter sitting on my desk. I smiled, knowing it was from Edward.

I sat down in my rocking chair and opened it. Written in his beautiful calligraphy, was a note that made my eyes sting with tears.

My dear Bella,

I know you don't like waking up alone, and I don't like not being there to see you open your beautiful brown eyes each morning, but alas, I had to hunt.

There are so many things that I have always wanted to say to you, but it is hard to find the right words out loud. What it all comes down to is one word: thank-you.

Thank-you for letting me into your life. I don't know how I survived my many years without your presence. It is not only your sweet scent that draws me close to you, but your kind heart, soul and mind.

From the day I met you, I have been completely taken by you. In the too long time I took to realise that it was in fact love that I felt for you, I was always grateful to be in your presence, to be around you in some way.

Never in my life did I think that I would find my soul mate. You have made my life complete and I can never thank you enough for the joy you have brought to my life.

I want to thank you for bringing me back to life, for making me have something worth living for. You are the brightest star in my endless night.

My love for you is indescribable. Every time I see you, or hear your heart beat, it makes my dead heart leap with joy. You are the most important thing in my life and I want to thank you again and again for the new beginning you have given me.

Every day I fall more and more in love with you, and until the end of time, that will never stop. I will spend the rest of my existence trying to understand how someone as perfect as you could ever love someone like me.

I cherish every memory I have with you, and cease to remember any without you in them. My heart is yours and always will be.

I love you.

Take care of my heart; I have left it with you.

All my love,

By the time I had finished reading, I was sobbing. He didn't realise just how much I loved him. He is such an intense person, and hearing, or reading, these words he says makes my heart melt.

His butterscotch eyes, his scent, his soul - they are a few of the things that made me fall so deeply in love with him.

He is the most thoughtful person I have ever met, and I can't wait to spend the rest of time with him, loving him and showing him how much I care about him.

Two hours later, after I had read the letter again countless times, I heard the Volvo pull up outside the house.

I ran downstairs as best I could and sprinted to the door. When I opened it, I threw myself at him.

He noticed my tear-stained cheeks and red, puffy eyes. He gently wiped them away.

"Bella? What's wrong?"

"Edward," I choked out. "That letter…was…the most…beautiful…thing I ever…read. I love you…so much." He smiled down at me and I pressed my lips sweetly against his.

"I'm glad you liked it, love. Everything I said, I meant with everything I have. I love you."

Tears started trickling down my cheeks again and Edward wiped them away. I pulled him into the house and we went and sat in front of the TV.

Edward pulled me onto his lap and I snuggled into his chest. We flicked through the channels until Edward stopped on one.

'Romeo and Juliet' was playing. We watched the rest of the film together, holding onto each other, in love.
