I always stop on my way home from school to sit on the beach for awhile. I never really see much besides fish and the beautiful water witch reflects of the sunset. I sit on a rock and listen to the ocean waves for awhile. As I said I never really see much but this night was different than any of the the rest. I walked down the kinda steap sand that leads down to the beach and plop down on the big rock I always sit on. It always brings back memorys. It was a perfect night. The wind was blowing a slight breeze and the palm trees where swaying. I always saw ripples in the water from jumping fish. But this one was a huge one! I have never seen anything like it. It was almost like a human jumped out of the water. But it couldn't have been becuse I saw a tail. " Alexa! Come inside!" And there's mom. Alway ruining everything like some kinda story book. When someone interups a girls first kiss or when the girl is going to buy a anniversary gift the mom or the dad comes. Just some conisdent they always say but it almost seems on purpose. When I got up to go inside I saw huge thing jump out of the water I looked closer then I soon realized what I was looking at... Wasn't a fish.
Fantasyis fantasy. Right? Eather that or i'm going mental. I think i'm going mental. Oris that actually a mermaid laying right in the shallow waters of the beach about a little ways away from me? Eather way i had to see what that was. Her head was turned the other way so maybe if i sneek up on her i can see who she really is or something like that. I got up from the rock and inched my way slowly forward to the mermaid. "Alexa! Come on! It's been longer than a minute now!" Mom shouted from the house.
Then without thinking i yelled back "Just a moment longer!"
The mermaid wiped her head around and was looking strait at me. And then as fast as it all happened she backed up and dove back out into the sea. I got close enough to see who she was. Was my mind playing tricks on me? Or was it just the part that i really was going mental? Could that have been my sister Clair?!
