Vampires have definitely taken over our lives, media and all. They have infected our books, movies, magazines and TV shows, and its not all just recent news. Some of the popular examples of "old school" vampire media would include the long lived vampire slayer 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and her vampire boyfriend from LA 'Angel'. Newer examples would include 'Twilight', 'The Vampire Diaries', 'True Blood' and they have even made special appearances in 'Supernatural'. In most shows, the vampire is usually the bad guy or the boyfriend, but in some shows, the vampire is helping police officers and the law. Two examples of these type of television shows are 'Moonlight' and 'Blood Ties'. They have also seemed to have "bitten" our music too. A band that almost always seems to have vamps on the brain is My Chemical Romance, or MCR. A couple of their vamp songs are 'Vampires Will Never Hurt You' and 'Blood'. We all know that there is no shortage of vampire books. Two of my favourites are the obvious one the 'Twilight' saga and a book called 'Night Runner' which is about a boy who is living in an asylum because he is way too sick to live by himself. Turns out he is a vampire...who knew? Finally, we cannot forget the "king of vamps" himself, Dracula, who has starred in our books, TV shows and movies as a horrific creature...not all of them sparkle.
