When I opened my eyes, it was dark. Not dark like at night, but the dark that you can feel. The room was illuminated by one candle in the back corner, and I could see a mystical, shadowy figure standing by the window. But as soon as I blinked, it was gone. I was horrified. I tried to scream and run, but my own body restricted me. I was forced to lay back down and close my eyes, my mind going one-hundred miles a minute. I couldn’t move the way that I wanted to. Why was this happening to me? I didn’t know where I was or how I had gotten there. I couldn’t remember anything from my past. Only what was going on that minute. I tried and tried to move, to remember, to do anything, but my body was not responding. It was like it had a mind of its own. Soon, I was out of energy. I had used every ounce left to escape myself, but to no extent. My outside body finally took over and I passed out on the strange bed, in the strange room, scared and alone.
