I woke up to screaming and gun fire, I was scared... That I was
going to kill my brother.
I dragged myself out of bed and stood by the door frame and
looked at my fifteen year old little brother, he was sitting on
the carpet with his legs crossed and his thumbs banging on his
remote like there was no tomorrow. It's like watching a
woodpecker pecking at a tree, but more violently and instead of
it being a tree it was a remote. I never understood how he could
play his PS3 all the time.
"Charlie! I've told you so many times not to have your game
turned up so loud this early in the morning, you know that I have
"And I have 'day school' and this is the only time that I get to
play my game, the teachers are always so demanding! Do your
homework Charlie. Why are you always late Charlie?! Careful about
how you talk to me Charlie, do you want another suspension?! I'm
sick of all of those old giesers, that's why I always play this
game! I always imagine their heads getting blown up or shot, so
stop bossing me around Clarry!"
"Are you okay? You sound like you're on drugs or something...
Nevermind, I have to go back to sleep. Charlie do you know if
there's any sleeping pills in the house?"
He paused his game and stared at me, something's been off about
"No, I don't..."
I hate that boy sometimes! What's his problem! He's so
inconsiderate, thinking that the world revolves around him. I
walked away from my room, through the lounge room where my
annoying little brother is and into the kitchen. Now where would
I be if I were a pill? I looked in a few cupboards and found some
gum and a pen lid. I looked back at my room, wandering if I could
go back to sleep without the pill... One more quick check around
the kitchen wouldn't hurt. I walked around the counter in the
middle of the kitchen like a zombie, realizing that I was already
half asleep I started walking back to my room when something
caught my eye, it was outside the window. I slowly opened the
curtains, trying not to let too much light in and get blinded, I
didn't want to make that mistake twice. I looked over at a person
in a black hoody standing in the shade of the tree that he was
leaning on, I could just make out a few of his features when he
smiled at me. I yanked the curtain shut. He was creepy... Did he
know me? Oh my God, is he a stalker?! Wait, calm down Clarry,
just because he saw me looking at him and smiled doesn't mean
that he's stalking you. I yawned, I can't belive that I forgot
that I was tired. I walked back to my room and was about to have
a quick glimpse at myself in the mirror, but then I would know
how crappy my bed hair and messed up makeup would make me look
and I certainly didn't want to be thinking about that. I
collapsed on my bed and went to sleep as soon as my head hit the
I woke up and it was 7:30pm, I wasn't tired at all. I didn't have
any dreams, I miss having dreams... They are the only exciting
things in my life that I actually like to do. I got out of bed
and walked out of my room, Charlie's game was packed away and he
was sitting at the kitchen counter eating dinner. "Hey Charlie.'
I smiled, he smiled back. He looked like he was over our little
fight about his PS3.
"So how was school?"
"As usual, the teachers are still asswholes"
"What did yo-... they do?"
"They confiscated my drugs..." I wasn't listening to most of what
he was telling me untill I heard the words 'confiscated' and
"You brought drugs to school?!"
"No, why would you accuse me of being a druggie? Do you really
think that low of me?" He gave me a smile.
"Why would you say something like that?"
That little brat! How could he think something like that would be
funny?! Ohhh I can't wait to get him back for that. I walked
into the kitchen and opened the fridge, there wasn't much in
there today... Mum sucks at cooking, why couldn't she just let
dad cook? Left over pizza, score! I took it out of the fridge,
set it on the kitchen bench and ate it cold. After I was finished
eating I had a shower, got dressed, did my hair and make-up,
brushed my teeth and headed out the door with my handbag. I'm
still getting use to night school, my 'clock's' completely
