I made my way down the empty corridor as quietly as possible, not wanting to attract attention. Even so, my quick, soft footsteps echoed throughout the vast hall. Every step I sucked in a breath, glancing nervously behind me, only to see... nothing and no one.
Shaking my head of nerves, I straightened myself and walked with a purpose. What was so wrong about making for my bedchamber? It wasn't like I was a thief looking for gold.
Not that what I was planning to do would be any better.
