Chapter 2

"Elsie? Hey, can you come over? I decided that I wanted to have a little sleepover. " I said calmly into my phone. A few minutes after Nate had left I decided that I didn't want to be alone.

"Sure thing. I will be over in about twenty minutes." I thanked her and clicked the hang up button. Then I decided to call Seth and see what he was up to. Seth had been mine and Elsie's friend since kindergarten. The three of us hadn't done anything together in a while and I felt like a bad friend for not spending more time with them.

"Whitney?" I could hear the shock in Seth's voice. Now I definitely felt guilty. It's been so long since I have called him that he must be amazed that I did.

"Yeah. Listen, Els is coming over to spend the night and I was wondering if you wanted to come over and hang out. The three of us haven't spent time together for a long time, and I feel bad because of it."

"Of course I will come over!" I was relieved to hear that he didn't hate me for shunning him the past month or so.

"Awesome, so see you in a couple of minutes?"

"You bet. See ya!" I set my phone down on the kitchen counter and waited for Elsie to show up. Suddenly the door swung open and I about died. She saw my alarmed expression and giggled.

"What's up with you?"

"Nothing, besides the fact that you almost gave me a heart attack! And knowing you, once I died you would just leave me on the floor, come back a couple weeks later then call the police. I can hear it now- "Yes, my friend died a couple weeks ago, I think you should come pick her up. Thank you. Bye." So caring Els. I can feel the love!" I gave her a hard time and laughed.

"Shut up!" She swatted my arm and Seth came in. He looked the same as always. His blonde hair cut in a shaggy style and his brown eyes sparkled in the light. Today he was wearing a simple blue t-shirt with light washed jeans and converse.

"Hey! I didn't know you were coming over." Elsie said with excitement. She was already in pajamas and had her brunette hair pulled into a braid.

"Yeah, I guess Whitney finally decided that she wanted to see her friends again. What an unsocial butterfly!" I ignored him.

"What do you guys want for food?" As soon as I asked I knew I would regret it. They went right into their typical fight of either pizza or chinese. Chinese was Elsie's pick and pizza was Seth's. As always though, Seth won. I called up Figaros and ordered two large cheese pizzas and gave them the address.

"So Whitney have you told Seth yet?" I gave Elsie and alarmed look and shook my head warning her not to say anything. She shut her mouth.

"Told me what?" He gave me a confused glance and I sighed.

"The Burlin Dance Academy has pretty much accepted me. I just have to do a recital for them and I'm in."

"Oh, so why is this such a secret?"

"When I told you about the Academy I forgot to mention one detail. You have to live there. Since all their classes are daily they require that you live in the dorms." I dropped my head down in shame. He knew that I was trying to get accepted to Burlin, but I had avoided the mentioning of moving away.

"I see. Well the Academy is only a little ways away. We will still see you. Don't worry, Els and I won't forget you." I gave him a grateful smile.

The doorbell rang and I went to go get it. Sure enough the pizza was here, but so was Nate. I felt my smile slide away at the sight of him.

"Uh, thank you?"

"I told the pizza guy I would get it to you and I paid him." I took the pizza boxes from him and Seth came up behind me.

"This doesn't look like our normal pizza guy." Seth said with an edge to his voice.

"Hello, Seth. What are you doing here?" Elsie walked over looking totally lost. I knew how she felt. I felt confused too.

"I happen to be spending some time with Whitney and our friend Elsie. The real question is why are YOU here?" I clutched the pizza boxes and wished that Nate would leave. I didn't want Seth to get into a fight with him, and first off how did Seth even know him!? It really must be a small world after all.

"I paid for Whitney's pizzas and told the guy I would get them to her. I'm moving in to the house right there. We met earlier." He pointed in the direction of his house. Seth gifted him with a glare.

"Well, thank you for the kind deed, but we have to go eat our pizzas now. Good bye." He shut the door when Nate was about to argue, and locked it.

"Woah, Seth. How do you know Nate?" I asked.

"Summer camp." He murmured with and angry hiss. This wasn't typical for Seth. He was usually laid back and never angry.

"You never went to summer camp." I stated in a dry voice and placed the pizzas onto a table.

"This was a special summer camp, far away from here. Which is where, sadly, I met Nate."

"Wait you are saying that spectacularily hot guy is someone both of you know!?" Elsie cut in with eagerness playing across her face. I rolled my eyes at her enthusiasm.

"He lives in a house down the street and I met him earlier today. He's also going to be going to Westcher." I informed her and I watched as a sly smile crept across her face. I knew that look.

"Whitney, I think that he likes you. He even paid for your pizza." I stomped up to her and glowered.

"He does not like me. Don't even think about trying to get us on a date or anything like that! I know how your little mind works and I don't trust him."

"What's not to trust? He seems really nice." She said stubbornly.

"He is not nice!" Seth and I yelled at the same time andgaped at each other in shock.

"Fine. Whatever. Can we dig into this pizza now?" Taking the chance to forget the awkward conversation Seth and I agreed. The hours went by and we had a blast! We watched movies, played video games, and I even showed them my routine for Burlin. Elsie thought it was simply breathtaking, but I still had to perfect it. Around midnight Seth decided to head back to his house. Elsie was upstairs getting ready for bed and I went with him to the door.

"You know don't you?" He whispered to me.

"Know what?" I asked, puzzled.

"About Nate. That's why you don't trust him. That dream wasn't just a dream Whit. I gotta go, but I will talk to you later about it." Seth hugged me and walked out the door. How did he know about my dream!? What did he mean that he will talk to me later?

Still confused I climbed up the stairs and found Els already asleep. I smiled and headed for my dance studio. I practiced it again and when I turned the music off someone spoke.

"You are really good." I brought my hand up to my mouth to prevent my scream so I wouldn't wake up Elsie.

"What the hell is wrong with you!? First of all you don't just sneak up on people like that. Second, you don't just enter their houses without permission either." I scolded Nate. He smirked and pushed himself off the wall and slowly came towards me.

"Sorry. It's just a bad habit. You remember your dream." He didn't say it like a question, but like a fact. "That's why you are keeping your distance."

"I have no idea what you are talking about! Both you and Seth are talking about my dream, but that was just a dream. It can't be real. How do you and Seth even know about the dream any way?"

"It was one hundred percent real. I was there, and as for Seth he probably read your mind. I did not attack you though, because when I pushed you against that tree and you screamed you vanished. I don't know how, but you did." Seth read my mind?! This was getting way too weird!

"Are you going to hurt me?" I whispered in a terrified voice. His eyes practically fell out of his head.

"No! I like you Whitney. If I hurt you then the fun would be over."

"Stay away from me! Go home Nate. I don't want to talk to you right now, it's late." I crossed my arms and scowled. He smiled and vanished right in front of me. Sighing I walked to my room, where my very soft looking bed was calling me. Iquietly layed down and glanced in Elsie's direction. She was sleeping peacefully. I closed my eyes and followed her example.
