Chapter 1

The Accident

A year ago...

She was going too fast,

faster than I could handle.

I looked at her, I looked at my mother.

She wasn't smiling,

and her mouth is smothered

in straight lines.

I'm scared.

Especially when she's like this,

but how?

How does one stop a bull

from attacking?

"Look at what you've done to me!"

She spat the words out

like a hunter firing his bullets.

Abandoning my fears,

I began to get angry,

how dare she accuse me?

In my anger, I slapped her.

I couldn't help it,

but now I realized

that it was a big mistake.

The car swerved heading towards

the direction of an oak tree.

I could see her trying to prevent

it from happening,

but there was nothing

she could have done.

Suddenly, I was agonized in pain.

I tried to move my arms

and found that I couldn't.

So instead, I turned to look at her.

There was blood on her head,

making her pale white blonde hair

look like it's covered in mud.

"Mum?" I cried out weakly.

There was no reply,

no signs of a living person...

Only a body...

Cold and empty...

That was when I realized,

that my greatest fear,

had just happened

right before my eyes.

I am alone
