Chapter 1

Colin had yelled at him for the last time. Zander couldn't stand how he was treated. Colin told him that he wasn't a “cool kid” but then treated him like a child! Where was the justice in that?

Colin no longer believed that Zander could do anything right. To be honest, Zander was beginning to doubt himself. How could he have not caught one of the impudent teens yet? They were like ignorant children but still managed to trick him.

If only that damned fire hadn't stopped him before on the boat. Zander glanced at the branding on his arm. His single reminder that he could never control the element of pure power. If he could master that, he would be unstoppable. Even stronger than Colin and Ben combined. But he had already tried that. And it didn't end well.

Zander shook off the thought. There was no point in dwelling on the past. What was done was done, no changing that.

Now he had to capture one of those idiotic kids. Just one would serve his purpose. Colin would favor him again. Ben wouldn't compare to the pure awesomeness that Zander was.

Zander would be the best.

But now there was the difficult part. Capturing one of the nitwits.

Which one should he choose? If he had one, the rest would follow. He would be ready for them this time. Should he get the girl? No, she was too special. If he would take her it shouldn't be rushed.

What about the boy with the cards? Eric, was it? He was still suffering from the loss of his sister. His moves would be rash, not well planed out. And it would be even more rewarding to capture him. Double misery for Eric!

But how should he do it? The water was a complete fail. The water was too... calm. Zander need to use something more powerful. More strong. More daring.

Zander snapped his fingers and the wind ruffled his clothes, giving him some air. Zander needed to brainstorm some new ideas... wait, that was it! Zander rubbed his hands together deviously and smoothed back his hair. Things were about to get exciting.
