I woke up in a field of grass. It was sunny and a blue sky reached across the landscape. I sat up quietly. The field looked a lot like the one Jaden brought me too. The field was way bigger than the one he brought me to though. It was huge. The grass shined brightly and freshly and the sun gave off a vibrant color and feeling. The forest that surrounded me on all the sides of the field looked magical. The trees looked so happy and bright. They looked too good to be true. They looked like something that would be in a fairytale.
I noticed I was totally alone. Lynx wasn't anywhere. Or anywhere that I could see him. That made me shiver. If he's watching me right now there's no way I'm getting out. Not a chance. I stood up and brushed my pants off. I started walking towards one of the ends of the field. Every step I took felt as if the ground was slowly dissolving under my feet. I walked carefully and cautiously. Every step I took, I watch as my foot hit the ground.
I kept my guard up just in case Lynx decided to pop out from nowhere. How dare he bring me here? What does he want with me? What the hell was he saying about power? If anyone has power, it's definitely not me. If I had some kind of power, I would know myself. I'm pretty much useless to a vampire. I'm nothing but a human. Completely useless. Unless...he's planning to suck my blood whenever he wants. make me his personal blood bank. That thought made me shudder and stop. He wouldn't do that. Well maybe he would but that's not what he wants me for. Is it?
"Oh beautiful, I see your now awake." Lynx smiled as he came out of the woods. He walked slowly up to me and touched my cheek. His hand was freezing and it sent even more chills down my spine then I already had. "How are you doing today dear? Do you like this place? I had it made special just for you. It's magical isn't it?" He asked looking around. I just stared at him and the woods. That's funny, I didn't see him in the woods to begin with. I just frowned and took a step back.
"Get away from me Lynx." I threatened as I held out my hands. He just looked at me amused. He shook his head and smirked. "What are you smirking at?" I asked getting irritated. If only I had a freaking stake. I'd stab the crap out of him. I just glared at him. All my anger and fright went into the stare. He glared back but it was playful. His eyes danced in joy and his mouth was curved into an even bigger smile. "Lynx, I don't want any trouble okay? Just bring me back to Jaden and nothing will happen." I said quietly as I put my hands down. "You won't get hurt, I won't get hurt, everything will be the same as it was before. Just let me go OK?" He just laughed at me. He threw his head back and laughed. It was an amusing sarcastic laugh.
"And how would I get hurt? Are you going to hit me or something? I can tell you don't have any knowledge of your so called powers so you can't hurt me with those. You're pretty much weak in this situation. If anyone gets hurt, it will be you." he said zipping up in impossible speed next to me and his voice dropped to a seductive whisper. "But I don't want to have to hurt such a pretty thing."
I quickly began to move away until he grabbed my arm. "I told you how it was going to be." he hissed violently at me as he dragged me back toward him. As much as I dug my feet into the ground, I was only hurting myself in the situation. His eyes looked angry. He wasn't amused anymore. More like annoyed and angry. "I told you, you obey me. None of this nonsense. I'm a vampire remember?"
"So what? You're a stupid vampire, a useless immortal that is a disgrace to life and is dammed for eternity." I growled. Just as that slipped out of my mouth I regretted it. The way his face changed from anger to amusement to both mixed together gave my heart a thump. The way his grip tightened on my arm made it harder for me to breathe. I froze instantly.
"You really shouldn't have said that sweetheart." He said pulling me up to his chest as he started staring at me with his burning eyes. He looked from my face to my neck just smiling. "I could bite you right now and you know what would happen? You'd be a vampire. A dammed disgrace." he smirked as he pressed his lips against my neck. Goosebumps popped up on my skin and my blood ran cold.
I felt his fangs pulling forwards as they urged a taste of my blood. He was so close. My mind can't think and I'm to tensed up to move. His lips traced up my neck and to my lips as shook. His breath was cold and icy. His eyes were glued into mine. He bent down towards my lips. He was going to kiss me. I wanted to pull away, but my body refused to. It just stood there. Just as we were inches apart, something near use cracked. Huge brown roots came sprouting out from the ground grabbing Lynx.
"What the hell?!" He yelled trying to rip them off him. As he struggled, I pulled free and stumbled backwards. I watched his face and the shocked and angry emotions played across his features. He looked up at me and looked horrified. I just kept stepping backwards out of shock. "Hey! Where are you going? You can't get out of here!" A vicious smirk danced its way onto his face. "The forest is actually hidden walls. You will only hit stone."
I just ignored him and kept running. Oh please let me through! I thought running faster. "If I have powers, this is a great time to use them." I whispered quietly. Half of me was sarcastic, half of me was serious. I just pictured myself running freely through the wall over and over again. As I ran up to the forest, I easily passed right through. The temperature changed though. It was incredibly cold.
"What?!" I heard Lynx shriek behind me. I kept running. The woods were wet and dull, foggy, unclear. The ground was soaked.
"Where the hell am I?" I hissed running very clueless through the forest. I ran and ran but it only seemed as if the more I ran into the forest the more it was swallowing me up. I looked everywhere but saw nothing. My body was lagging, begging for a break but I couldn't stop just yet. I ran faster. I ran until my feet started to move by themselves even though my breathing was labored and my stomach cramping. I finally saw an opening.
"Yes!" I whispered to myself as I reached the opening. I ran right onto an abandoned beach. The sand was wet. You could tell by the color. The water was a deep dark misty blue. The sky was Grey. Clouds were in every inch of sky. It's like, they themselves have become the sky. The wind blew with a cool feeling to it. It smelled damp and musky. The beach was surrounded by all rock. Rock cliffs is more like it. I turned to go back into the forest. Maybe if I take a different path then I did, it will lead me to another place. A better place. But when I turned around, all I saw were the same looking grey rocks.
"What?" I frowned touching the cold hard surfaces of the rock. "Where's the forest?"
"Young girl." A windy girl voice boomed. "Come young girl." It sounded like it came from everywhere. I turned around multiple times but never found anyone.
"Who is it?" I asked whipping in every direction but still finding nothing.
"The ocean, girl, go into the ocean." It hissed through the air.
"The ocean?" I asked skeptically. I turned and faced the ocean. It was completely still. Not like a minute ago where little waves were being made. "Why the ocean? What do you mean?" I waited for a response but didn't get one. "Hello! What about the ocean?" I yelled up in the air.
"Hush my dear child!" The voice said in fright. "Something's coming! Go into the ocean! Hide my child hide!" I heard the sound of footsteps behind me and turned. I saw no one and nothing but the voice was still persistent. "The ocean!"
Without any hesitation, I ran as fast as I could into the water slipping on the sand. But I keept going until I the water was enveloping my body in a cool caress.
"Deeper. Deeper." The voice said echoing around. So I obeyed I moving deeper into the water. It was weirdly warm and comforting.
"I'm in the water, what now?" I asked quietly as I kept my eyes on the spot I heard the footsteps at. What was following me?
"Let the ocean do that rest. Do not fight back. It's for your own safety." It whispered. Don't fight what? There was nothing to fight. The water suddenly circled around me in big waves. I couldn't see anything above it.
"No!" I heard Lynx yell. He must have gotten out. He was the person following me.
"Oh please waves protect me! Please!" I begged at I covered my ears. The water circled around me with an ear ringing noise. Unnatural colors started streaming out of them immediately. I watched them as they circled around me over and over again. There was pink, purple, blue, green, brown and any other color you can think of. I just stood there watching in amazement. They circled me and made me feel so light. I felt a breeze down at my feet. I looked down and freaked.
"Oh my god! My feet are missing! Where are my feet!" I screamed.
"Shh child. You don't need to scream. You're safe. There taking you to a better place." The voice hummed. I bit my tongue as I tried not to scream. A better place? Does that mean a safe place or is it killing me slowly and non-painfully? I stared at the colors in horror.
"Don't kill me!" I screamed shaking my head fast. The colors circled me faster and faster. I felt myself start to disappear. I watched as my hands disappeared and my chest too. Soon all that was left was my head. Even though I didn't have the rest of my body, I could still feel my heart beating quickly. As my neck started to dissolve, a feeling of peace overcame me. Soon, my eyes and forehead was all I had. Those didn't last long though either. Just has my face disappeared, all I saw was darkness. It was cold and I felt nauseous. It felt as if I was spinning. Then everything just stopped. All the sudden I hit a warm feeling ground and grunted. I opened my eyes and looked over my whole body.
"I'm all here." I gasped in relief. I felt like jumping for joy but instead I just looked around. What just happened? Where am I?
"You must be Sereka. I'm Nosk and its very nice to meet you." said a young woman's voice from behind. I turned around and saw a tall young woman smiling at me. She had long light pink hair and soft looking clear skin. Her eyes were a bright blue. She was wearing a long skirt that looked like it was made out of green seaweed, the same with her bra looking top.
"Hi." I whispered quietly as I felt confused.
I looked around to see that I was on another beach. This beach was beautiful though. It was still in the middle of nowhere, but it was definitely better looking than the first one. The water was a bright blinding blue and it was completely still. The sand was dry and was a pretty sparkling tan. Upon further scanning I spotted a little house made out of a whole bunch of leaves and vines.
"Oh, that's my house." The girl said pointing to it. I turned around and faced her. I looked at every inch of her face and arms. I scanned her legs and feet also. I didn't find anything weird about her except of course her outfit and her hair. Her hair looked so real, like pink was her natural color. "If you're wondering…I'm a mermaid."
I just stared at her. My mouth was probably open very widely and my eyes must of popped out of my eye socks because she began to laugh. I just frowned at her. "You're a mermaid? Where's your tail?" I asked looking over her legs again but ended up seeing just regular legs. My eyes darted back to her face. "And how did you know my name?"
"I only have a tail when I'm in the water silly." She giggled with a pixie like laugh. "And for the other question, there's a long story for that so why don't you come inside and dry off." She gave me a warm smile. "I have some extra "normal" clothes you can wear." She winked as she put quotation marks with her fingers over the word normal.
"Um..ah OK." I whispered quietly as I followed her towards the house. As she lifted a huge looking leaf away, you could see the inside of her house. A giant leaf for a door? It must get cold in here at night. None the less I stumbled into the cozy little house.
"Why don't you have a seat dear and I'll tell you a little story?" She sang as she sat down in a chair that looked like it was made out if thorn less vines and leaves.
The house wasn't big at all. It was just one tiny room. In it was just 2 identical chairs, one table that was pretty much just a flat stack of rocks. It had a whole bunch of leaves as the floor. There were herbs everywhere. It was very beautiful though. I sat down in the other chair and it was weirdly comfortable.
"OK, let's get started." she smiled. I just nodded and let her continue.
