Chapter One

The muggy Georgia air was comforting to Aislinn. She readjusted her bag on her shoulder, and continued trudging through the forest away from Iris Academy. If she could just silence the barriers, she could escape, and go home. No, I'm not going "home". There was no longer a place for her in Chicago, not after what she did.

With a flick of her wrist, she mustered up a broom. A bit stereotypical, but she didn't care. She threw her leg over the neck of the broom and glided through the forest. Adrenalin ran through her veins as the wind brushed her face. She didn't even notice the violet force form around her as she abruptly stopped.

Aislinn snapped out of her trance, she wasn't moving. Oh, God. I'm caught. That was the only thing racing through her mind as she heard footsteps crunching on the dead leaves.

"What's a girl like you doing out here all alone?" The voice was definitely male. Teenage male, mildly tenor with a silvery tone behind it.

She didn't bother to glance behind her as she spoke, "What do you think? I'm picking daisies in a purple meadow." She retorted.

"But, it's winter…. And you're in the forest." Was he really that stupid? Aislinn turned her body to face the idiot.

"It's a little thing called sarcasm, learn it. Now, let me down." She glanced over his built body. He sported the Iris Academy uniform, with his blazer thrown over his shoulder. Once she reached his mouth, it turned into a wolfish grin. Aislinn realized that she was biting her lip, and mentally slapped herself.

"You know, Ms. Hecate really loves when students bring in runaways. Two whole days in the city." He raised an eyebrow, then shook his head.

Aislinn mustered up all the magic she had left and sent a wave towards him, knocking him backwards and distinguishing the violet force. Before he got a chance to fall, Aislinn grabbed his hand and twisted it behind his back. Pushing him forward, she straddled his back and leaned in towards his ear.

"If you tell anyone about this, I'll personally cut your dick off and feed it to you." She nibbled on his earlobe, before letting him up and disappearing.

Aislinn threw her bag on the floor, and then flopped onto the white fluffy bed. The day had been longer than she expected. Detention tomorrow, cellar duty all week, and on top of that, a five page essay on the history of witches.

She rolled over with a groan. "Why do you have to be so difficult, Aislinn?" She asked herself. Of course, she didn't get an answer. She let her fingers roam to the emerald stone tied to her neck. She just laid there for a while, doing nothing. It was relaxing, not thinking, I mean.

Aislinn kicked off her boots, and rolled over onto her side falling into a deep sleep.

Bryceon looked over himself in the mirror. Then, cold water splashed in his face. He ran a hand over his face before returning his gaze to the mirror.

Sadly, he couldn't find one flaw. Not that it was a bad thing, it was actually pretty good. His looks got him plenty of girls. That wasn't the problem. It was that girl. Ever since he'd been in the forest, he couldn't stop thinking about her. Did she not like his face?

His ear still tingled where she'd nibbled on it. Bryceon took a deep breath. He stalked out of the bathroom in a pair of boxers. One of the many perks of having a single dorm. He got under the covers, and turned out the lights with a simple mind trick.

He fell asleep with the sight of mystery girl on his mind, knowing he wouldn't get much sleep. She'd haunt his dreams until she was his. Oh, she'd be his. One way or another.
