Delilah, Delilah. You sure have come a long way. How long has it been now?

Chinese torture, she decided. She had no idea how long it had been now. She'd lost track of time.

Shane was driving her off edge. He hadn't moved onto the physical approach yet. He was playing with her mind, sending her small reminders of their nights together. He knew she was getting needy, hormonal. He was teasing her.

She could take it though, no matter how many times he woke her up with these little "memories". All she had to do was sleep with him to end this…and it was no crime. The answer seemed simpler every time she thought it. Then she had to remind herself that it was a struggle for power too.

She sighed, they were in a war, and Shane or herself could be killed in the process. Here she was, getting all snotty because he had put her in her place. Of course, he seemed like he was having fun with it, even while dealing with Charles. She was glad to have her mind off of it.

Broken bonds came to mind. So much for distraction. Was her bond with Charles really broken? Was it only fear that made her think that Charles was in the farthest corner of her mind, sitting and watching? Or was he really there, through the bond he had tried to make. What if she could keep tabs on him?

What if he was keeping tabs on her? What if he knew everything that was happening?

Should she try to contact that bond? Should she try to talk him down? Could she?

"You're not going to accomplish anything."

She sighed. She couldn't wait to learn how to keep him out.

"I can only barely keep Alexander from my thoughts. Good luck."

She huffed out a breath and turned to her other side. She couldn't get comfortable, there was too much on her mind. She rubbed her legs together, denying the fact that she was horny. She wondered briefly if Shane could have sex with her though bonds and thoughts. That would be something quite interesting.

"I could in a way, but you're not anywhere near ready for that. Besides, I'd rather have you in my arms."

"How sweet." she sniped. "So how long until you get irritated and just pin me down to the bed?"

"You're looking forward to it. So I think I'll just keep up the memories for awhile." He said, and she could practically feel the grin so close that she almost grinned herself. He said, his thoughts soft now.Shane said, smugness clouding the comment.Shane told her.

She stretched out her mouth, a little put off by the strong feeling.

"Sorry. That was a little much. I slipped up. Sometimes, if my feelings are strong enough, you can feel them as if they were your own. I have been doing my best to keep them down. It is an unsettling feeling when it passes."

"No kidding." she agreed.

She looked around the empty room, and realized it was the first time she'd been alone in awhile. Shane hadn't let her be by herself until now.

"Do not get too excited. I am outside the door, annoyed with worry."

"Well if there is a bond and we tap into it-"

"You will lose your mind. I can't risk that. Do you not remember how horrible you felt when I was changing you and you were connected to us both?"

She shuddered involuntarily, then shuddered again, just to get it out of her system. It didn't work, the chill remained. She remembered the feeling all too well.

The door opened, and Shane came in. He crossed the room, and pulled Delilah onto her knees then kneeled in front of her. He kissed her deeply, running his hands up the back of her shirt. He bit at her bottom lip, breathed deeply.

She pulled away. "You know, we were just beginning to act like a married couple." she told him. She had to get her mind off Charles and this war anyway. Shane was making it easy, God bless him.

"How is that?" he asked, smirking.

"We were fighting and no one was having sex." she replied, grinning. She was thoughtful for a moment. "You know Shane, you're a really good lover, not that I actually have anyone to compare you too-"

"Delilah, I can see what you're thinking. Think about other men all you want, Baby, but if you ever let another man touch you the way I do," he jerked her against him as if to demonstrate, a malicious smile on his face. He ran his tongue along her jaw and into her ear. She was about to start shaking from fear, when he pulled his tongue out.

He let out a hot breath against her lobe. Then moved his head up so his mouth was parallel to the most sensitive part of her ear, and not even a centimeter away. As much as she tried, she couldn't read his thoughts. He chuckled darkly. "I'll kill you both." he finally whispered.

Before she could even think to gasp, he was pushing her back, and she was leaning against the wall. Shane adjusted on the bed, and pulled Delilah's legs around his waist. Delilah knew how frightening Shane could be, and knew she should be offended. But dammit, she just loved it when he man-handled her.

It wasn't long before, once again, her clothes were lying on the floor in useless pieces.
