Captured Innocence

Novel By: Cherie Arlavine
Fantasy

Invited by the head master of a school Delilah thought she would only be lucky to get into, she soon realizes that the school isn't so lucky. In fact, she's sure she's walked straight into hell.
Students are treated like slaves by other students. Treated like dogs. And her welcome is not one she would have ever expected.
Delilah soon finds herself struggling to get out of a place she had so easily walked right into. Even after calling the police, she finds there is little hope of ever leaving.
And her worst fear is not only that she'll be enslaved and treated like a dog for the rest of her life, but that she may not have much of her life left.
The only thing she knows is that Shane Jacobs is to blame. View table of contents...

"Another one, Charles?" One of the men said.

There was one woman among them, and she gave Delilah a sorrowful expression. Delilah ran to her. "Please help me! I haven't signed anything! They can't keep me here! This place is insane! These people are psychotic." She hugged onto her, praying the woman would help her.

She hugged her back and Delilah sighed with relief. "She hasn't signed anything?" she asked Charles.

"She was invited by Mr. Jacobs. Whether or not she has signed anything I think it would be in everyone's best interest for her to stay here."

"No!" Delilah cried. "They have chains around their necks! Please don't make me stay here!"

"Charles, I thought we had an agreement about the chains." One of the men said. "You have twenty-four hours to get rid of them or we'll have your school exposed for what it really is. I should do it anyway considering this is the third time I've had to ask you. But the school will be punished with a fine of twenty-five thousand dollars."

"Twenty-five thousand!" Charles exclaimed.

"You can afford it. And the station needs new computers. You can consider it a donation. Or would you like to run this through the court system? Raise suspicion? I know you don't want the reporters here again."

Delilah peeked behind her and saw Charles glaring at her. She turned her head back and hid it in the woman's neck. "We'll take the girl with us." the woman said.

"That wouldn't be a valid idea, Detective Tavak." Charles hissed.

"I think that's for me to decide." she replied, her voice just a bit scarier then Charles' had been.

Delilah wanted to kiss her. She held her tighter and the woman did the same with her.

She then heard the doors open and felt the cool breeze. She looked up and knew almost instantly that she was looking at Shane Jacobs. He looked down at her briefly and the look sent a slow chill down her body.

Then his eyes fixed on the Detective. "I'll take the girl." he said and grabbed Delilah's arm.

Detective Tavak held her closer. "No. She hasn't signed anything. She doesn't have to stay here."

Shane jerked Delilah away and held her next to him. She struggled to free herself but he hardly seemed to notice her attempts. "We'll have that factor settled shortly." he replied.

Delilah choked out a sob. He started to move them toward a door. "No!" she screamed and tried to claw at him.

The Detective drew her gun and aimed it at him. "Mr. Jacobs, I can't let you do that."

"Janie!" one of the men snapped. "What are you doing?"

Shane looked at her with a vicious gleam in his eyes. "You'd better think about that, Detective."

"Just let her go." Janie breathed. "She's just a kid, dammit. Let her go."

"Detective Tavak, I would advise that you put that gun away and remember that if I decide to punish your actions you won't be the only one to suffer. Think of your husband, Janie." he said, his voice was low but it was all the more threatening.

The Detective lowered her gun slowly. She looked at Delilah. "I'm sorry." she whispered.

"You made the right choice, Detective." he said then pulled Delilah into another room as she screamed.

Author's Note:

Let me know if you like this. I don't want to get into a third book unless people really want to read more. I will still continue working on my other two novels "Jared Mackenzie" and "White Tent" . More chapters will be up soon! School is starting soon so I'll have less time to write. Sorry! If I get enough people wanted to read more of this I'll post the next chapter. Thanks 4 reading!
