I gazed around 'my room' I sure wasn't going to miss this place. The old peeling yellow walls looked so bare without any posters. The squeaky bed looked even more dull and lifeless with the absents of my teddy.
"You can't leave us, Jazz," pretending to cried Rebecca exclaimed .
"I'm really going to miss you," I cried in return.
"Who will be my roommate in this hell hole, I'll be so lonely and the prison won't be the same." She jumped up from her bed and look over at me. I'm going to miss the ways she brighten the day and although I hate the orphanage it isn't as bad as what Bec makes it out to be, which always lifts me up.
"You'll be fine and maybe pig face will let Kristina move in with you. Just because I'm leaving doesn't mean you never will. Just think people have it worst. I remember when I first came here, how old were we 7? I was always scared at fist about the shadows on the wall and you would stay up with me and tell me stories. I was afraid that you would go, someone would adopt you, how can they not? I was very jealous of you."
"You jealous of me, you're the one who gets a family." There was a thinking silence.
"Jasmine, it's time to go." Pig faces kind, parental voice boomed from the gaps in the door.
"I'll be right there." I took a look around the room before Bec and I slowly made our way down the stairs, our arms linked. The other girls waved me goodbye.
"I'll remember you all," I called out to them. At the bottom of the stairs sat my bag next to pig face and my new family, well you couldn't really call it a family since there was only Miss Randall there. Miss Randall who has been visiting for three weeks and finally wanted to adopted me. Well this shall be fun.
"Good morning, Miss Randall," I smiled at her.
"Hey Jasmine, you can call me Katie, please."
"Well you have all your things, so have a good life Jasmine, we'll miss you." Pig face came over and gave me a hug, Bec gave me a quick hug then walked back over to pig face and Kristina. When you grow up in an orphanage you lean to be strong and show no feelings.
"Well I'll see you later, then, I guess, "I said.
"Yeah…hey remember to keep in touch."
"Always," and that was all that was said between me and my best friend. I walked out into the dead lawn hopped into the old blue ford and Miss Randall and I drove away leaving my 'life' behind.
