They always told me dreams weren't important. They always told me that they didn't mean anything. But what if they are wrong? What if dreams are promises, or even warnings? What if we have been ignoring the one thing that could save..everything?
They tell me I'm crazy. My therapist says that dreams are simply "subconscience fears, and thoughts that show themselves through metaphorical images and stories while I am asleep." But I don't believe him. My dreams are something else. I know it. I feel it.
And I'm going to find out what.
Many stories begin with a dream. Brisca's began with many. For years, she logged every dream, and the events that ensued when she began trying to understand them. Her world fell into chaos, danger became her ever-present companion, and the people dear to her began disappearing one by one. Her actions rewrote psychology books as she disproved their theories on dreams and nightmares. The world after her was full of magic and beauty, but also terror and corruption (in a sense, it didn't change much).
But that is getting to far ahead into her story. For the life Brisca had before her dive into the unknown, is just as important. After all, every new day is life-altering, even in the most minute way possible.
And so, let Brisca take you back to a small suburb outside Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 2005...
