Now with me feeling much better, I gladly retreat back home, to find my mom making an awesome dinner of baby back ribs, and oh, that is a favorite of mine.  But all meat is really a favorite.  During dinner I told everyone that Molly and Sophia are coming over, and we were going together to dance.  My little brother of course argued to this saying that he wanted some friends over too, and it wasn’t fair that I could.  With enough complaining my dad knowing my brother’s position of also being the youngest, agreed to let him have one friend over if he agreed to stay out of the girls way.  Mathew did agree, and started listing what he might do with his friend.

For a little guy like my little bro, he can talk up a storm.  It does get quite annoying after a while so, as soon as I finished my dinner, I went upstairs to take a quick shower and to call up Sophia if she was home yet.  She wasn’t so I just opened the closet door, to admire my dress, with all of its beauty.  That may seem kinda weird, but I never had a fancy dress, and every dress that I had, wasn’t worn very often, because I just don’t like them.  You can’t run fast, you seem so exposed and well, I just didn’t like them.  I went to bed early, hoping that I could be some sleep, at first I couldn’t, I just kept on thinking about all of the mistakes that I could do.  Eventually I must have gotten some rest, because I woke up, kind of late, but still I felt better and refreshed.

Molly and Sophia came over a few moments after me getting ready.  We talked and talked, and trouble maker Mathew didn’t bother us one bit.  And before long it was time to get ready.  We all changed into our dresses, and then did each other’s hair.  Well, mainly Sophia did that, she loves playing with our hair just so.  Molly and I did Sophia’s.  A bit of make-up on each of up to make all three as pretty princesses going out for a big ballroom dance.  So we went on our way through the back door, up the back stairs to the back room.  Ms. Genevieve was ready there with the tiara in one hand, she gentle placed it on my head.  I looked in the mirror only to see a different me, a gorgeous queen me.  With my dark hair flowing over my shoulders, the sparling tiara on me head, and a dress of pure beauty, I’d take any ones breath away, and I knew I took my own.

Ms. Genevieve said that the queen would be announced and then I go down the stairs to meet my dance partner.  I knew all the steps and the parts, and just one more thing. “Ms. Genevieve, can my friends stay up here with me, until it is time to go down?” I asked.

“I guess that would be all right, you are the queen anyway.”  Oh, I was happy or that, but for what was going to happen next, I was total freaking out about.  My friends were both trying to calm be but nothing worked, and then the announcement.  At the top the stair case, it was a curvy one, so I couldn’t see the king, or the bottom.  Sophia, telling me to hurry up with a push and Molly just gave me a shy smile.

I started down!  Slowly, oh, very slowly, I wish I could go faster.  At the bottom all dressed in a black suit and a blue and black striped tie was the king.  The kind held out his arm, and across his face was a smile, with triumph and some mockery, and he eyes were so dark that it was like space.  This king was … (drum roll please) … Damon!  My rival, my enemy, the one person in that world that I didn’t like.  Why?  Just why, why him?  I can’t have a meltdown, I just can’t have a meltdown on this special day.  Be an animal and suck up the pain, and disappointment, and have courage, remember what Molly told me!

I was almost to the bottom of the stair case, I tilted my chin a notch higher, but he was too much taller to do any good, he was also standing tall, and straight.  SUCK IT ALL UP AND HAVE COURAGE!!!  I kept running this though my head.  Smile, don’t look angry, and SUCK IT UP.  I smiled nicely and the suck it up part really helped, because well, I was able to smile with warmth and pride.  And for some reason, I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks as I blushed.  I had just reached him and my heart gave a leap of hatred and how handsome he looked!

I took hold of Damon’s arm with gentleness, as I was thinking of either changing my fingertips into claws of my panther and dig them in in arm, or hold as lightly as possible and think about ripping his arm into shreds.  I had used control to keep my gift well hidden.  The music started and I stared to dance, trying to keep a distance from this enemy, but being in a different territory, I had to follow their rules.  The dance was meant to make it close, I was close, but not so close.  I did all the dances and then when others were free to dance I was swept away in many different boys arms.  And luck for me girls did the same to Damon.  So we didn’t have to dance again.
