“Slamine…” Came the familiar call. Slamine sat in one of the window seats, her chin resting on her knees. “Slamine!” This time the voice was harsher, and Slamine snapped out of her deep thoughts. “Hurry up; you’ll be late for school.” Twinkle came into view. She started taking down chairs off the many tables in the large room. “Unless you aren’t feeling well. However I’m not going to let you stay home then catching you working here again. You’ve already missed a week of school…” He voice trailed off.
Slamine sighed and stood up. She smoothed out her dark green skirt before tossing her hair up in a pony tail. She nodded, assuring Twinkle that she was fine. “Is Pixie up yet?” She asked, securing her hair.
Twinkle sighed, looking up the curved steps. “I don’t know, she should be. Slaina said she’d be well enough to come to school… Why don’t you go and get her.” Twinkle said, not exactly leaving much option.
Slamine started up the steps, quietly humming to herself. She walked down the hall, looking at all of the doors. All of the rooms were empty, not too many people visiting the town these days… not since Scarp had arrived. She gently pushed open the door to Pixie’s room. She stepped in, a smile spreading across her face as she saw Pixie gathering her books. Pixie looked up and smiled.
“You’re coming to school today too right? I can’t wait to see Slakin again, he said he had something to tell me… Are you okay Slamine?” Pixie went on.
“Hm? Yeah I’m fine, just glad to see you’re feeling better… Slaina?” Slamine said, obviously distracted. Pixie shrugged.
“In here.” Slaina called from the bathroom. When Slamine walking Slaina was putting her hair up in a high pony tail.
“Are you sure she’s well enough for school? School can be rough…” Slamine said quietly. “I mean with lessons in all, and she’s in the advanced cla-”
“I thought being over protective was my job.” Slaina smirked. Slamine smiled too. “You however, are you sure you can handle school? We made it in all advanced classes.”
“I can handle it.” Slamine said. They both smiled and walked out. The three of them headed downstairs and said goodbye to the fretful Twinkle and Star.
As they walked out of the well built tavern, they each spread their wings, and took off.
