Rumours. That’s all they are right? Silly little stories people past down the school. Normally, changed as they go from mouth to mouth so they so more exciting. Like the rumour about the girls science toilets being haunted. Yeah that’s got so much truth in it hasn’t it? I don’t believe in silly little rumours, that for some reason Emily decides she must spread. There not true, well that’s what I thought until I heard the rumour about the secret stage.
“Oh yeah right Izzy,” I said.
“No I’m telling the truth Jazzy, Kat told me, which she’d heard it off Paul from, Megz from Natty, From Abby From…” Jess rattled on.
“And let me guess somewhere down the line someone heard it off Emily?”
“Erm…” she said with a deep in thought look on her face, she looked more like she was trying to work out E= mc2 then working out where this all started.
“Now I think about yeah she told Danni,” she said as she was mulling over it .
“See? She’s just doing it for the intention that’s all, and you think? That’s a first!”
“Oh thanks, but still think its true,” she said in a huff,
“You’re telling me theirs a secret stage in the school and if you stand on it and act, what ever your acting will come live around you? Bullshit,”
My mum came into the bedroom.
“Watch your language young lady! And anyway its time for bed girls its almost midnight”
“OK mum” I said as she walked out of the door.
I got into bed and looked down at Izzy who was on the mattress next to my bed.
“OK I’ll prove to you that there isn’t a secret stage tomorrow at school OK?” I whispered,
My Mum burst in.
“Bed now both of you!” she shouted in hushed tones so that she wouldn’t wake my brother and sister.
“OK Mum” I said

“Sorry Mrs Parker” said Izzy.

I was nervous as I waited for Izzy in the underpast. It was 6:00pm so no one was around but somehow the school didn’t seem right. It felt eerily, a school should be full of kids, running around, getting told off, not bare and deserted. From wall to wall there was nothing. Just silence. Out of the widow i could see the sun setting and the poison darkness was creeping over the school. You could see it in every corner. Every door, slowly creeping in to the school. I shouldn’t be near, what if we get caught and the darkness, the darkness is everywhere now. God where is she, i looked at my watch 6:00. No that can’t be right, I’ve been near for at least 10 minutes. No wait my watch has stopped. I tapped the watch face,
“That’s perfect, I’m stuck here, Izzy’snot turned up and to top it all off my watch is broke” i said to myself,
“Who you talking to Jazzy?” Izzy said as she walked around the corner,
“Erm .. . . No one” I said, rather embarrassed.
“OK then . . . and they call me crazy” she muttered
“That’s because you are and are you ready or are we going to stand around here till I’m grey”
“I’m ready and I talked to Emily she said that it door to the stage was at the back of the drama office”
“OK come on then” i said as i walked up the underpast.
We got to the top in the underpast and walked up the stairs taking them to at a time. at the top of the stairs was the drama office. Well it wasn’t much of an office more like a shack if you ask me. The big black doors looming down on us, they didn’t look this big the daytime but the darkness had disorientated everything. Izzy tried the door,
“No use its locked,” she said.
“Don’t you think I’ve already thought of that?” I asked as I pulled the drama office’s keys out of my pocket.
“Where the hell did you get them from?” she looked at me wide eyed
“Let’s just say DK might be wondering where he’s keys are,”
“You stole them off DK!?”
“No I borrowed them without permission there’s a difference,” I said as i put the key in the lock and turned it.
