CHAPTER 13
The following morning, Sacheverell and Takvor were reading and waiting.
"We will follow the secret paths of Moulingsu. Its faster. Stay in formation. Be attentive. And for the love of Pete, Eachann, CALM DOWN!" Sacheverell shouted.
Eachann was not impressed. Not impressed at all. He was just about shoved into formation. Did they consult with me? Nooooooo. Just get into formation, Eachann. Be alert, Eachann. They'll be bloody well alert when this dwarf-killing elf prince hacks their heads off!
"Right soldiers! March!" the commander-in-chief ordered.
Their deafening footsteps could be heard through out Moulingsu.
Thousands of dwarfs armed with hammers), lances and swords marched towards Ikriam.
Takvor has gained some strength in the past few days but he still tired quickly. He was determined not to let Sacheverell notice so he made conversation.
"Commander, how long have you lived here?"
"Twenty-three years. I lived in Danisy when I was young."
"One of the guards mentioned a wife? I don't want to be nosy, but you knew my father and I know nothing about you."
Sacheverell walked along the dirt paths of the mountain. Beautiful grass pastures and striking flowers everywhere.
Takvor, who also noticed this beauty softly said:
"Sacheverell?"
"Huh? Oh, forgive me. I was just thinking. Yes, I do have a wife. Milne. Queen Milne. Her father ruled Moulingsu before we got married. After he died, Milne had to take the position as she was an only child."
"Children?"
"Yes, I had one daughter, Mishae but she was abducted when she was still a baby."
"Your wife must have been destroyed."
"No, no, not really. You see, Milne wasn't Mishae's mother. An Elf was."
Sacheverell told him everything. From Mishae's birth, her elf-mothers death and Milne's illness.
After a few moments of silence, Takvor tried to lift the tension and Sacheverell's foul mood. Without thinking he asked:
"Sacheverell, is it true dwarves can't be above ground during the daylight or they'll turn to stone?"
"Son, do I look like a stone-dwarf to you? If you haven't noticed, we've been above ground for hours. In the daylight." Sacheverell smiled.
