Chapter 4 - Sage
Sage helped Rignid to her room and called for the docter. She posted a guard at her door with the instructions that Vappu was not allowed to enter the room or come near Rignid again. She asked a servant to fill her bathtub with warm scented water. She sat at Rignid's side for a few minutes before walking to her private room.
She pulled away the silver velvet curtain that separated the main room from the bathroom. Her elfin feet touched the cold ruby floor. The floor was made of ruby tiles imported from Alusesdi, a birthday gift from her father.
She slid into the square shaped tub and sighed. She allowed the water to ease her sore muscles. The sweet aroma of roses filled the air.
She thought about her mother.
Her mother always loved the smell of roses. A cool breeze played with her hair and a single teardrop slid down her cheek. She missed her so much. Her beautiful mother.
Sacha-Gailia had hair as gold as honey and eyes as clear as water. Long elegant fingers used to play with Sage's hair while her angelic voice sang songs of hope and love.
"Sage, my love" her mother once said "never do something that is law or is accepted if you know in your heart its not right. You have to fight for the truth and the good in life. If you don't, evil with triumph. We stand for love, Sage. Love and harmony."
After her bath, Sage took a nap for she was exhausted.
It was well after sunset when the door silently opened. The intruder sneaked to where Sage was peacefully sleeping. He looked at her serene face and touched her full lips with his rugged fingers.
"Soon little one" it whispered to the dark and with that the figure turned away and vanished just as unnoticed as he appeared.
Sage slept silently.
